"Every Extend Extra" for PSP
"Every Extend Extra" for PSP
Famitsu Flying GET just revealed the upcoming PSP killer soft titles in the near future:
- Every Extend Extra
Action shooting game by Mizuguchi
-----------------------
dont know why i would pay full price for a game that you can dl for free, but at least the console isnt being neglected, and should likely include the use of the super tate mode.

Wow, really excellent news. It's a rare occasion when a doujinshi-shmup gets a commercial release on a console. It's probably going to be a souped-up version with lots more stuff included (hence the "Extra"), I doubt it's going to be a straight port.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

"Doujin" is basicaly homebrew or fanmade stuff. Some of it is created with no intention of making profit while others is like western shareware.
It seems that "Every Extend Extra" for the PSP is going to be some kind of updated version of OMEGA's freeware game "Every Extend".
It's short but sweet and can be found here:

I just tried to play Tate and it seems VERY awkward to me.dynagod wrote:PSP is "VERY" tate friendly, have you played star soldier?Neon wrote:Every PSP/DS shooter should be boycotted.
Make games for real consoles with real controllers that can tate comfortably plz.
The console has enourmous potnetial for shmups. its very natural playing vertical.
SHAQ FU!
well to each their own i guess. i find it very natural ,but then i am left handed. and maybe that plays into it somehow.ThirdStrike wrote:I just tried to play Tate and it seems VERY awkward to me.dynagod wrote:PSP is "VERY" tate friendly, have you played star soldier?Neon wrote:Every PSP/DS shooter should be boycotted.

Tate PSP Star Soldier also felt very awkward to me at first, but after a while, you do get used to it. Probably took me a few days to properly feel fully comfortable with holding it that way.
Anyway back on topic, I am really looking forward to playing Every Extend Extra - I hadn't heard of the original version, but if Mizuguchi is getting involved I'm sure it'll be fantastic.
Noiz2sa is my other favourite doujin shmup - can't get enough of it - I hope more games like this come out for the handhelds.

Oh boy... Although it can even used for verticals, I hope it rests clear that the PSP masterworks everyone awaits are R-Type Fukkatsu (irem) and Salamander I I I (konami/treasure).dynagod wrote:PSP is "VERY" tate friendly, have you played star soldier?Neon wrote:Every PSP/DS shooter should be boycotted.

You are exactly the type of fickle cunt that makes this board unreadable 85% percent of the time.Neon wrote:Every PSP/DS shooter should be boycotted.

Every Exend is an arena based 'shmup' that doesn't even have a true fire button. You blow yourself up at the proper moment to create the largest chain of enemy explosions. Enemies come at you from all directions, so the notion of TATE or YOKO is completely irrelevant.
If you can tell me how to get a Sanwa stick and good sized monitor hooked up to the PSP, I'm all for it...angrycoder wrote:You are exactly the type of fickle cunt that makes this board unreadable 85% percent of the time.Neon wrote:Every PSP/DS shooter should be boycotted.

There's too many good shooters on PS2 to even bother with paying hundreds for a PSP and a game that probably isn't all that different from the PC version.
Other than this game, PSP has:
- Crappy sequel in a crappy series (Sengoku Cannon)
- Another crappy sequel (star soldier)
And controls which are practically unusable for shooting games (again, show me where I can hook up my stick, and from there it'll need a monitor that is more than a few inches)
Not worth my time. I hate to be the negative one but I can't help but ask why...
Handhelds don't need sticks or super huge monitors. The point of portable systems is the portability. A Sanwa stick and a big 25" screen would be extremely awkward to carry on the go and probably would put the system in the extremely high price range too. The PSP has a plenty big enough screen as is. The pad sounds like it could be a problem, but not big enough of a probably to make a game unplayable. I get along fine with the GBA and GG pads.

Hmm it just dawned on me that the original PC version was made by a single university student in his spare time, while for the PSP version he is now being assisted in the creative process by Tetsuya Mizuguchi, creator of REZ and LUMINES. This is going to be a pretty high profile game in the PSP lineup, given the popularity of LUMINES.

I just saw this game at the Tokyo Game Show today and it looks like it's been revamped quite a bit. I didn't play it but a playable copy was at the Bandai booth. It's reported to only be 40% done and the expected release date is in January. I'm looking forward to it! The PC version was fun enough and the PSP version just looks like the same kind of thing with better music and backgrounds.
Oh yeah, and enough of this tate stuff -- it's horizontal...
and Star Soldier plays fine enough on the PSP! Just my opinion.

Very good news indeed, check out some nice footage here. It looks like a cross between Every Extend/a fan made vert shooter with Rez's backgrounds:

What I am wondering is Mizuguchi using Underdog's guys to make this? In any case, this year's TGS has been great so far.

WOW, the boss battle was great. sweet how he was able to use a chain to hit the boss through the bullet curtain! this game looks much deeper than its relative.Dylan1CC wrote:Very good news indeed, check out some nice footage here.
