Help remembering or identifying a specific shump please

Post by discojack »

I cannot remember the name of a certain shump I remember playing awhile back it was very similar to raiden fighters jet where as it had a large selection of different planes to choose from but the significant difference and reason I have been trying to figure out what game it was is because in the version I'm thinking of when you collect the power ups not only does your weapon get better but your plane gets bigger by having parts added to it. If anyone knows or has any idea of what I mean please message me thank you.

Sounds like it could be Data East's Vapor Trail (circa 1989) with upon collecting power-ups, making your fightercraft a bigger one.

Could VT be the one?

Or Vapor Trail for that matter.

CAG does have bigger planes but not in the sense of adding parts, if I remember right. There is the boss switch change item, but that's different.

Sounds like a Terra Cresta type game to be honest.

Do you remember where you played it? An arcade, on PC, a particular console?

I remember playing the game I'm thinking of in the arcade Pladium and at a silver city theater it was just a standard arcade cabinet game but the graphics were really good lots of detail. The funny thing is I have been trying to remember this game for awhile and through all my searches I have run across about two or three other threads on different sites of other people looking for the exact game. Thanks again everyone for all your help someone out there is bound to remember what it's called, the defining feature is your weapon gets better and extra parts get added to your plane when you collect power ups, keep up the ideas.

Seems someone started this thread to help you out, see if any of the titles in there ring a bell.
