Does this support usb controllers or joysticks? I can't get it to recognize my Hori VX or MadCatz TE. Having to use JoytoKey to map the keyboard commands to my stick. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Works fine with my USB Saturn pad, as does Gigantic Army and all the other Astro Port games I've tried.

The game's currently only $3 on Steam as part of the summer sales. Seriously, there's no excuse for not picking it up at that price.

Thanks, Ghegs!

If you haven't got it yet, please pick it up! More purchases will help get it into the top 21 under $5 and into the spotlight!

I'll definitely be getting it during the sale. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was on the final day since I would save anything of interest till then unless it's a daily or Flash for this one, and I kind of doubt it'll be a daily or flash one.

But yeah, this is a definite purchase whether it ends up being cheaper than $3 or at $3.

What a bargain. How long has it been on Steam? When I bought it, it was only available through Japanese distributors. Nice to see it has a 'Western' presence; I'll pass the link onto a few other forums. :)

I tried to sell my cousin (whose only gaming platform is a PC with Steam) on this a while ago, but he said it looked old and boring. Sorry!

Thanks for the support, guys!

Astro Port are going to be excited when they hear it's in the sale :)

(We only found out for ourselves when the sale went live.)

i bought it a couple of days ago after noticing it in the sale. Nice retro style action, bloody hard too. It doesnt recognise my custom joystick tho :-( and joytokey is no good either, i assume both are picking the stick up as an analogue stick rather than a 'd pad' type, oh well, time to dig out my saturn pad and magic box.....

Maybe i have a solution. :)
Currently i am testing JInput with java.
My program is like a cheap version of joytokey but it uses real dpad data.
You need jre1.6 or newer if you want to test it.

I bought the GamersGate version since I'm a bit averse to Steam and didn't notice it had SecuROM until I read this thread.
So goddamned furious (at myself) right now. A shame, because this is my favorite hori since Gradius Gaiden.

This is now available on Playism ($5.99), for anyone who didn't or can't get it through the other outlets. Though I'm skint, I'm actually considering paying for it a third time. What a mug.

All their games are worth getting truth be told

Supercharged Robot Vulkaiser is like a 70's Jap TV edition of Air Buster (evolved with multipilers, etc).

Well, that's because there are barely any submissions so far. I didn't even beat stage 5 with that score.

But I'm genuinely enjoying this game very much. On normal it doesn't look to be much of a challenge but I'm seriously getting my ass kicked on hard. Really curious to see insane mode.

I'm also considering getting Armed Seven as well.

I've just done normal, hard and insane back to back 1ccs this morning which are no where near my pbs but still nice to get the ball rolling on this one again and hopefully someone will beat my scores to give me something to shoot for. Insane is really where the fun is at with the boss rush in stage 5 being the hardest part of the game imo. I tend to use laser and homing for most of the game btw it makes the stages a little more dangerous i guess but the bosses drop far quicker.
