This is definitely cool!

By the way, I can't seem to be able to save hiscore (i'm using a Supercard SD) because the ROM doesn't accept the L+R+Start+Select restart command. Anyone can help?

Dunno about saving, but the lack of autofire left me with an impression that the game tries hard to be old. Like, pre-handheld old. Solar Striker has got autofire and so does Contra/Operation C/Probotector for the original GB.

it's a port from the 1981 arcade, which never saw complete home ports because of copyright issues (galaxian stage). I think adding autofire would've defeated the whole purpose of porting it.

by the way, It'd be nice to know how many hard copies of this were made:

I actually have this on cart. It was sold by Good Deal Games and I bought one at the GCE 2010 in Vegas. Nice port of the original Gorf.

Does EZ Flash IV handle saves differently than Supercard? Maybe if I upgrade I'd be able to save the hiscore / unlock gallery...

The EZFlash IV has some SRAM [that games autosave to] that gets copied to the SD on next system boot. Takes a while to copy for larger save sizes, but eh. When loading a game, it copies the .sav on the SD back into SRAM for the game to use.

And remember to copy your ROMs onto the card with the little utility the EZFlash team has, it sets up a blank .sav and whatever-the-hell-else the card needs set up for games to work right.
I remember putting Sonic Advance 3 on the card through Explorer, the game wouldn't save and it had everything unlocked [which is pretty nice, although not being able to save your times in time attack sucks] until I did it through the utility.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.
