It's Euroshmup, sure the gameplay will suck. SX2 was decent though.

SX2 was only decent when compare to SX1.

After the initial "wow this is way better than that other Soldner game" wore off it was obvious that it still sucked.

Well I was looking forward to this when I saw the trailer awhile ago, but after seeing the gameplay it just looks absolutely boring. Where are the bullets?

What's a great looking game worth if it bores you to hell?

Nice to see the Axelay roundshot again though.

Normal mode has 15 stages and seems to be some kind of "story mode", since you can individually start from any stage you want (you have to reach it first though). The annoying thing is, that your credit doesn't stop after one stage, so don't expect a score attack. Sitting through all 15 stages on one credit is too tiresome and that's why we have Arcade mode. Arcade mode basically is the real game and has less stages (around 6, can't remember exactly).

I don't understand the concept of Normal mode at all, but maybe other people can enjoy it. Feels very unconventional to say the least.

I can't comment on the final version, but at least the beta one seems way too easy overall. Hold button and dodge.

I assume you mean for completely legitimate purposes. In that case I'll probably test it out. I'll just have to get NullDC working first. If the game is as easy as Plasmo said, retarded old me should be able to get through it and see if NullDC breaks anything.
Why is it called the Vic Viper/Warp Rattler? Because the Options trail behind it in a serpent-like fashion, and the iconic front fins are designed to invoke the image of a snake's fangs.

To me, this looks like a slight mixture of G-Darius with minor R-Type elements. I look forward to it, though I'll have to dig my DC out of the basement. Unfortunately, my TV setup is very limited right now. But once I get myself a hi-def TV, this would be a great way to utilize the VGA or DVI port (w/ a converter, of course) :)

Reading that FAQ makes me visualize them wading through angry ALL-CAPS e-mails. As someone who has worked on delayed projects, I'm really sympathetic (though I don't think we opened up pre-orders so early).

Hmmm I'm on the verge of ordering

On the other hand, redspotgames has been announced again and again that no payment is required to make the pre-order – it’s even displayed in bold and red and in two languages in the redspotgames online shop.
That's strange, considering they took my payment immediately when I pre-ordered both the standard and Ltd versions. And I'm not the only person this happened to.

I'm really not happy with the way this is being handled, and the FAQ is like they're trying to absolve themselves.

There was a post on Duranik's Facebook page where they said they were just waiting on the limited edition boxes. Which is sort of contrary to that FAQ which suggests there are other outstanding issues.

I have no idea why, with the game being delayed for over a year, updates on the situation have been so sparse but at least they've finally come out and said something. At least when it was shifted to November '11 it was because they were adding more stuff to the game and that was made clear. Presumably they've taken the additional delay to tighten things up further?

Payment was taken when I placed the original pre-order. When I upgraded to the limited edition I was refunded the original payment and paid all over again. So while payment may not be necesary, they took it - when this turns up it'll feel like a free game because the money's been out of my account for so long!

Hello everyone.

Sorry to hear you are not content with the payment handling. I would like to enlighten the situation a bit.

Indeed we got some feedback about this issue. We're sorry if this is confusing.

We don't charge your account without any notice - the customer will be redirected to PayPal (if you choose PayPal as the payment method that is) and you have to accept the direct payment out of your PayPal control panel with all detailed information. If you don't want to pay, just decline and click the window away.

Why we are accepting payments nevertheless:
Once the game arrives from our suppliers, all paid order will be shipped asap, means the very same day. Others need to wait for the shipping until the newly sent invoices are paid. Since many people from Europe are paying by bank transfer, the might take 3-6 days until the money arrives. And some are so into the game, that they don't want to wait another 3-6 days until we send it out.

Of course it is unacceptable that you have paid without wanting to.
Please contact my colleagues at the redspotgames customer support and everyone will be refunded asap.

As all previous redspotgames releases, Sturmwind has been produced and financed by the own company budget. This is not a Crowd Funding project, and we want to prevent this impression.

Actually there have been other issues as well, such as the CD facility went bankrupt. You can read further information in this part of the Sturmwind FAQ: http://www.redspotgames.com/sturmwind-faq/#9
There you can also have a look at the (now defunct) CD factory.

In the meanwhile both Duranik and redspotgames agreed to enhance the game in the meanwhile, e.g. a new HUD, weapon system and the SD Card feature!

If you have any other questions, please contact my colleagues at redspotgames customer support.

Have a nice day guys!

The Video compares the RC1 with the actual RC12 which ist the same as the final Release except of very few details. The Video makes clear, that the delay of the release has some positive effects because Duranik uses the extra time for implementing many new features like new Enemys, better Bossfights with more Bullets, enhancements on some Levels (e.g. longer Levels, new Effects like Snowstorms etc....).

Still no closer to a release date then? This has got 2013 written all over it, this always seems to happen with DC indie shmup titles. I'm looking forward to this game and I wholeheartedly support what Duranik are trying to do, but the lack of any kind of update on the a possible release date really is streching it for me. Even a which quarter they're expecting it in would be of help.

If they are changing the weapon systems surely the whole game will need re-balanced and tested, adding yet more time?
