Yes. It's the stage 4 boss in Katakis on the C64.

It's weird how a lot of AMIGA developers copied art form the PCE & SuperGrafX when almost nobody in Europe knew of their existence back in 1990.
So how did Manfred Trez get to play Aldynes in the 1st place & copy the 2nd level Boss?

Also in the last level of Apidya, you get to fight a huge sea shell that looks similar to the shell of the mermaid Boss of Gaiares (MD) & later on you get to fight a grotesque Zombie figure, similar to the 4th level Boss of Gynoug / Wings of Wor (MD)
As for the Horner Final Boss, that reminds me a lot of DonPachi’s Bee insects, but that was released 3 years later.

Same as the Project X speed run Bonus stages, look almost identical to the speed run section of the 2nd level of Aero Blasters Arcade/PCE/Genesis, which was also usd in Turrican II shmup stages.
In the end not all ideas are copied just because different people realised them. One idea can find different people at different places and times.

I also remember playing another Amiga PD game around 1993 or so that was just like the speed run sectino from Aero Blasters. The whole game was like that, it was all about 'avoid the obstacles and collect bonuses', with no shooting involved. Pretty fun game, I wish I could remember the title.

Well there was a demo of the Project X speed run bonus stages, in one of the "AMIGA Format'" cover disks, but I think that was released around 1992... But it could be 1993.
That too resembled the Aero Blaster speed run levels.
