I tried to patch the ket.zip I have but it doesn't work for me. I see no changes when I run the zip in MAME. Tried both drag and drop as well as running it in command line (win7).

Worked me however v1.5 freezes after you select char

EDIT* they both do and theres some pretty weird stuff on screen lol

God knows i give up the crc doesnt match whats listed on your site but i have no idea why as i followed the steps correctly ie drop ket folder onto ketstoic re zip add to roms .

Hrm, it's possible that the patcher for Windows is broken... Can anyone else confirm this?

works perfectly with drag n drop on windows 7. no errors.

tried a few rounds. have never been a big fan of ketsui but really your input is admirable.

ever thought of a "novice mode" ? :P maybe a "DTP mode" while you are at it. with no bullets maybe ?

Mac method went without a hitch. 1st impressions:

1.5: Seems more polished, like the colour scheme, love the Special Round intro. Appears to be more manageable and a little slicker all round, great work!

Stoic: One of the most soothing bullet hell experiences ever. No scoring pressure, no problem. Loving the purity.

The autobomb was all I felt was appropriate to make it easier.

Also I don't intend to hack around Cave stuff anymore. I'm going to be hacking up Daioh next.

Amazing work on this arrange ! Holding A+C makes the game impossible for me though >_> (while I already found Ketsui hard as nails...)

Had a busy morning, tating the Naomi and getting my mame pc up and running properly, but I'm playing 1.5 now.

I suck at the original Ketsui, and I'm not much better at the arrange version :p Think I need to turn on the autobomb function, because now, I'm happy when I get to stage 2 on 1 credit :oops:
But really nice work you did trap15! Dig the color scheme and the different behaviours of the options!

I had some issues with the patcher last release but managed to get it working after a while. I'll let you know here if anything happens.

EDIT: Avira's calling Ketarr15's ketmod.exe a virus. More importantly it's not accepting Panzer Jaeger (second ship, straight shot) choices: it accepts like normal but the Tiger Schwert pops out instead. Is anyone else getting this besides me?

I had this issue too, you can't patch an arrange 1.0 to 1.5 and make it work. You have to patch the ORIGINAL romset seperately to arrange 1.5

I'm using MAMEUI32 and if you audit to find it you won't find it because it'll fail the CRC checks etc. Going to Ketsui itself and then running it, or using non-GUI MAME by commandlining "mame ket" should work.

Yeah, I'm getting this too. Seems like something that should be fixed quick so you don't need to make a new version unless this is a patcher error or something.

Also, the notes say A+C "doesn't do additional damage" in 1.5, is this written correctly? if it only raises rank it's just a way to make the game harder?

Ketsui bullets are fast anyway and they behave very differently to Mushi. I think a Mr. Stoic mode with Ura Loop difficulty would be a nice survival alternative.

It is written correctly, but no it's not. Read the whole page :wink: It's very very important for scoring.

You can't reach the ura loop in stoic because you can't reach the 120 million point requirement, unless there's some new requirement? Also, the second loop's scoring system is still intact. It's amazing the ways I can die when I'm playing freestyle.

Haven't checked out 1.5 much.

I don't really know what's going on with the loop scoring in the Stoic version. I don't think it's completely same since I got over 50 million from the Omote loop in a run that ended in the middle 2-2 and unless I'm remembering something wrong, that's lot more than what you would normally get. Either way as MrMonkeyMan said, the multiplier system is still there.
