I just received a C&D letter from CAVE. No comment on what further steps I will be taking.

Meh, since when is making a patch a copyright violation? If I make a diff to a .txt file of a bestseller book, my changes containing purely self-written text, how am I doing anything illegal?

Not sure, but I use that email everywhere, so I'm not surprised that they found my email. They didn't address me by name though.

Doh, watchadoing Trap, you're supposed to make it hard for them to get you the C&D so you can plead ignorance!
If worst comes to worst, 1.0 arrange is still a fine piece of work and I like it.

What if Arrange is installed in a cabinet in Tokyo right now or being traded in Yahoo JP? It might reflect poorly on CAVE somehow. I can't see it though.

Well, it's their IP so I guess the IP guys felt like they need to sue everything lol. I think it would've been harder for them to notice if the site didn't have screenshots of the hacks

I'm just thrilled to have another legit e-mail address at Cave with a confirmed English speaker on the other end! Sweet..
But yeah, sucks about the mod.. Though it shouldn't come as a huge surprise. You should contact them and see if they like it.
Haven't owned Ketsui in a while but it sounds fun.

So what would happen if he released it
Can cave even afford a lawyer at this point?
Would there be a court because of a gaijin changing a 9 years old obscure game that doesn't make cash anymore?

Ketsui Arrange 1.5 running smooth on my PCB. Yay! I really need to go to bed now but I'll take it for a test ride beyond the attract mode tomorrow, that's for sure.
Thanks trap15 for your amazing work!
