I'm reasonably fond of DFK and while I can't really get into Galuda2 I do acknowledge it as a very good game....but based on what's been said I'm not sure that either is what OP is looking for.

If DFK isn't the same way from you then you just haven't figured out how to play it yet. I have yet to get a clean run through anything past st1, and even that is nowhere near optimized :(

Why the hell won't my character go into bullet cancel mode on Galuda 2? I'm holding down the button and the screen gives that momentary white out after a second but then, nothing, and my score is still registered under normal slow down mode. Sorry for the vagueness, proper mode names have left me for the moment.

You expend gems AND gold all the time in "super slowdown" mode.

Killing enemies depletes your gold count a set amount per enemy. It means you had almost no gold and immediately ran out, and returned to normal kakusei.

Also note, once you've held down the button and entered "super slowdown" you can just release the button and press it again to go back to normal.

Nice one, thanks. Forgot the bit about needing gems AND gold, numbskull.

Not that it's going to make much difference, this one is above my level I feel, though I really like the mechanics.

also, good thing to know about zesshikai: it consumes gems and gold equally over time, killing enemies doesn't make you lose more items unlike kakusei. So it's actually easier to use for survival in sections where a lot of weaker enemies are shooting hard to dodge patterns like the reverse scrolling section in stage 5 where if you tried using kakusei you'd quickly run out of gems.

Keep with it Marc. First time you get a massive points haul in zesshikai and gold digits explode all over the screen, it's orgasmic. You'll be back for more.

I'm trying man I really am, but I'm getting FUCKED. And I really don't understand the mechanics, feels like I'm missing something big.
