I find myself in DC semi-frequently, though never with a car, and rarely with much free time.
Are there any arcades, game shops, or other destinations that may be of interest? Preferably something conveniently serviced by public transportation?
Arcades and/or Local Game Shops in Washington, DC?
Re: Arcades and/or Local Game Shops in Washington, DC?
Unfortunately, you'll find the DC area barren for gaming except on MAGFest week. There are no arcades with classic games and no interesting import game shops. A local gamer had an amazing home arcade with a dozen cabs, but ended up selling them all. Even the pinball museum was forced out to Baltimore.
There are occasional gatherings for new fighting games in northern VA, but I'm not sure they're accessible without a car. I'm aware of MD shmupmeets that would be accessible by subway, but they apparently meet very intermittently. There are fighting game weeklies in Baltimore, but that's probably not worth the train ride.

Thanks for the reply... This hasn't been the first time that DC has disappointed me, and I doubt it will be the last.
