Count me in guys :D .

I have some PCBs too that I can bring, and a 360 stick.
I'd love to give Same! Same! Same!, Outzone, and any of the gradius games a play.

I'll bring some food for the potluck, just have to think of something good.

For the potluck, I'll definitely be bringing 2 12packs of Dr. Pepper, and I want to try to get some Orange Crush too, but it's really hard to find anymore.

As for games, if alamone could bring along some combination of Garegga, Progear, Puchi Carat, Same! Same! Same! and Tatsujin Ou, and Sparky could bring Ibara and Espgaluda II, that would certainly make my day. Let me know if anyone wants me to bring anything; I could bring my MVS-1F (thanks alamone ) if anyone wants to bring carts (I'll probably bring it and Super Sidekicks 2, if anyone is interested in some 2 player matches).

OK, I'm marking requested PCBs with a dot on my list.

Regarding Progear, I think Frenetic already has that PCB.
I can still bring mine if you guys want to do competitive
scoring or if you need a JP region version.

For food I'm thinking of bringing some dogs from Berkeley Dog,
I dunno if any of you guys are familiar with Top Dog in Berkeley
but they use the same sausages, they're pretty good.

Is that Dodonpachi JPN or Int'l version?
I'm hoping to make a 2nd loop EPROM for that as well.

This is looking to be a good meet! I can bring Out Zone, Espgaluda II, and Ibara. Feel free to add any requests to my list by placing a R in the Request column. I will check it before leaving to the meet so I know what to bring. I have not decided what to bring yet for the food/drink portion but will add something soon.

It would also be fun to check out Round 1 if there is some time. They have Darius Burst Arcade, Raiden IV, and Shikigami no Shiro III on location. The Darius Burst cabinet gives a nice rumble when seated in the cabinet.

I should have a car this summer so I'll try my best to make it. I'll be driving up from SD so if there is a potluck I won't be able to bring anything perishable.

Didn't one of you guys have Illvelo?

(Thread is updated with list of PCBs being brought, thanks so much guys for contributing, this shmupmeet is looking like it's really shaping up. We are all going to have a great time! Also, put in a time when the shmupmeet will start and end, and also the bit about us all going to Round 1 afterward)

I have Illvelo: Illmatic Envelope on the Naomi, sure I'll totally put it on for you. It is one of Milestone's best games! If you want to bring a two bags of chips (potato chips, Doritos hehe I love the Original and Salsa Verde, I think also the nacho cheese in a jar/canned bean dips are shelf stable).

I'm in SD too; if you need a ride, I think we can make some room :)

Hey guys, I'm a super newb shmup player but I'd like to see what this community is all about. I have 2 questions: Would it be possible for me to join you guys to this shmupmeet? And does anybody live near Fontana? (Between Rancho Cucamonga & San Bernadino area)

Turns out I'll be in socal visiting family that weekend, so I hope to come (and bring my younger, shmupressionable brother with me). I have a decent PCB collection, though I haven't posted a list... will try to do that soon. Really looking forward to checking out Darius Burst as well!

I'm in the same boat being a newb too, still getting the hang of scoring mechanics in games and whatnot, and I'm going. Might learn some hot tips and make some friends. I used to go to a lot of fighting game tourneys and meetups, and it was a blast, so I would expect the STG community to be as fun. I'm looking forward to this!

I should probably stop playing Diablo III and start on some shmupping. My new Mushihimesame is sitting at the post office right now, but won't be able to get until Tuesday :(

So many people addicted to D3. lol I didn't buy it on purpose because I want to pass my classes! Finals are coming up! Anyway, What are the major games that people will be playing during this event? I don't want to be the only person that looks like a moron and be like... "uuhhh what's this?"

I'd bring my Saidaioujou preorder but the boards aren't gonna be out till the 22-24th of this month.

If you guys check my PCB list I've updated it with lots of new acquisitions plus I'm expecting
a fixed Gunnail to arrive (was DOA from sheep nova). Also planning to convert a Namco Sys1 board
to a Dragon Spirit.

Hi there guys, just made an update to the thread. A BIG THANK YOU to alamone for fixing my 5 pin joystick harnesses! I should be installing the new(ish) power supply in this week so <crossing fingers> I'll have JAMMA/JVS on the hori cab. Unfortunately, it looks like the shmupmeet is full right now. If you want to be put on the waiting list send me a PM.

Also guys, feel free to PM me if you guys want to trade games/gaming paraphernalia from console/handheld/PCBs, or any other things you'd like to trade. I'm putting mine up in the main thread. This way we won't have to do shipping and we can test out the PCBs on the cabs/supergun setups.

Just a reminder, to all intended shmupmeet attendees please RSVP to confirm and which dish/drink you are bringing. It doesn't have to be homemade, fast food chicken/pizza or whatever. I love potlucks and I think it will be fun to just be able to just game and then snack so they'll be a pure and unadulterated shmuppin' time! Plus I'll have paper plates and saran wrap so you guys are welcome to take home leftovers! :D

Cheers,
F

Ok, my friend won't be able to make it due to military, so now I'm either going to have to camp out at Old Town, arrive late, or find someone here who doesn't mind giving me a ride from San Diego.

Anyone wanna give their favorite trap15 a ride? :D Or will he have to ride a couple buses, sleep on the sidewalk in Old Town and then take the Amtrak? 8)

Glad to hear you might make it Age of Kings. I'll get Illvelo: Illmatic Envelope ready for you. My vote goes for hummus and pita bread/chips!

A heads up, I've sent confirmation PMs to everyone who hasn't recently RSVP'd. Please reconfirm by Thursday or else I will take that a sign as you won't be able to make it to the shmupmeet. Sorry for pressing the point, it's just that there have been other people who have been wanting to go and I'd like to reward their enthusiasm if possible. After you've confirmed I'll have the directions, etc.

Cheers,

Well, it sucks that I can't go. Was really looking forward to Illvelo and other games.

I like how most everyone has reacted with "I got my ride now" or "yay I can go now with an open spot!". >.> Makes me feel real awesome...

No no, that's not what I mean >.< I mean I found a way up there so don't feel like "oh no now X has to be a hobo for a day". You'll be missed :(
Heck, if you really want to go you could probably do as I am and ride a couple busses and the Amtrak to get there around 11:30 >_>
