Mushih Futari Platinum edition 360 (Smoothing)
Mushih Futari Platinum edition 360 (Smoothing)
Just got this but can't find a smoothing on/off option in the screen menu.Is it not used in this game?Or is it on but can't be turned off?I can't really tell to be honest

Re: Mushih Futari Platinum edition 360 (Smoothing)
I don't recall there being an actual "smoothing" setting, but there are separate Arcade and Xbox360 modes (low-detail vs. high-detail), and there are some scanline-like graphical filters available in the advanced graphic settings as well. Some combination of those options may get the game to look the way you want.

Thanks.I haven't checked out the Arcade mode yet, will this be the low detail like EspGal2?Keres wrote:I don't recall there being an actual "smoothing" setting, but there are separate Arcade and Xbox360 modes (low-detail vs. high-detail), and there are some scanline-like graphical filters available in the advanced graphic settings as well. Yes, i've had a look through the graphical filters. The game actually looks fine but i just wondered why there wasn't a smoothing option like in the other Cave games i have.BTW i always switch it off.

I'm pretty sure there is a smoothing option. I'm certain in fact.
It may be in the advanced display settings. Futari has several levels of display setting menus and not everything is available in the basic view.

Futari port is by M2 so among other things you can count of obscene amounts of display options.

Yes,there are two screen option menus, one having more options but i still can't see smoothing anywhere.I don't think that any of the modes are using it.All the bugs, etc look nice and detailed.Arcade mode looks terrible. Is this aimed at people with a arcade monitor, crt to run at 240p?
Re: Mushih Futari Platinum edition 360 (Smoothing)
Arcade mode just uses the original sprites, whereas X360 mode uses redrawn ones, Same as X360 mode on all other ports. There's also a few slowdown oddities in X360 mode.Tucker wrote:Yes,there are two screen option menus, one having more options but i still can't see smoothing anywhere.I don't think that any of the modes are using it.All the bugs, etc look nice and detailed.Arcade mode looks terrible. Is this aimed at people with a arcade monitor, crt to run at 240p?

there is.
when you have "screen options" selected you actually have to actually press "a" for this menu to pop up. this isn't really that intuitive.

Ahh Thanks matrigs, got it.My bad,i just completely missed it.It WAS on by default.matrigs wrote:

Yes,there does seem to be a fair bit of slowdown, especially when the spread shot is at full capacity.
Re: Mushih Futari Platinum edition 360 (Smoothing)
The 360 mode slowdown is starting to be a big problem.Im finding it unplayable. There is no fun having to play half the game in slow motion, unless its my xbox.
Re: Mushih Futari Platinum edition 360 (Smoothing)
game too slow? just turn the total counter up to 70,000Tucker wrote:The 360 mode slowdown is starting to be a big problem.Im finding it unplayable. There is no fun having to play half the game in slow motion, unless its my xbox.

seriously tho, the slowdown is (believe it or not) among the things that makes the 360 port so well loved. By all accounts the port plays almost identically to the PCB, which as shmup ports go is some S-rank sexy as hell stuff
Re: Mushih Futari Platinum edition 360 (Smoothing)
Oops,i didn't realise that.Maybe its not too bad after all.I hope i haven't stuck my foot in it.It's what njiska mentioned in the above post that got me thinking. The slowdown seems to go away when i stop firing and then starts when i start firing again. If this is normal then i'm fine with it,i thought it might be some kind of programing issue.I AM playing on Original but i would imagine on maniac or ultra the slowdown is a must.SunJammer wrote:game too slow? just turn the total counter up to 70,000Tucker wrote:The 360 mode slowdown is starting to be a big problem.Im finding it unplayable. There is no fun having to play half the game in slow motion, unless its my xbox.![]()

Forgot to say in my last post.I do know that Cave games have intentional slowdown,i'm just never sure if its legit or not.
Re: Mushih Futari Platinum edition 360 (Smoothing)
If you don't like the slowdown, play the arrange mode instead.Tucker wrote:Forgot to say in my last post.I do know that Cave games have intentional slowdown,i'm just never sure if its legit or not.

Re: Mushih Futari Platinum edition 360 (Smoothing)
A lot of times the ports will actually lack slowdown. Mushihimesama Futari is the only Cave port that actually has a bit more slowdown than the PCB (I think).Tucker wrote:Forgot to say in my last post.I do know that Cave games have intentional slowdown,i'm just never sure if its legit or not.
Re: Mushih Futari Platinum edition 360 (Smoothing)
The slowdown in Futari is pretty god damn accurate. The problem I have is related to X360 mode and how there seems to be a brief section of "super fast" speed when it comes out of a major section of slowdown. This is not something I've noticed in Arcade mode.emphatic wrote:If you don't like the slowdown, play the arrange mode instead.Tucker wrote:Forgot to say in my last post.I do know that Cave games have intentional slowdown,i'm just never sure if its legit or not.

Re: Mushih Futari Platinum edition 360 (Smoothing)
correct me if i'm wrong but as far as the slowdown is pretty much identical, the transition back to normal speed is much more harsh at times than the pcb.njiska wrote:The slowdown in Futari is pretty god damn accurate. You certainly won't like the arrange modes of dfk, thenTucker wrote:There is no fun having to play half the game in slow motion, unless its my xbox.

That's basically what i was trying to say. ONly a fucker on X360 mode though.matrigs wrote: correct me if i'm wrong but as far as the slowdown is pretty much identical, the transition back to normal speed is much more harsh at times than the pcb.

Mushihimesama on PS2 definitely has more slowdown than the PCB.dunpeal2064 wrote:Mushihimesama Futari is the only Cave port that actually has a bit more slowdown than the PCB (I think).

Re: Mushih Futari Platinum edition 360 (Smoothing)
I thought the slowdown accuracy on the Mushi PS2 port was that it had maybe 50% of the original slowdown... making it the 2nd worst port, since Ibara had 0%
I know that Stage 3 in Original was definitely fast as crap.

Re: Mushih Futari Platinum edition 360 (Smoothing)
I know Stage 5 in Original seemed slower than the 360 port to me?

That was the issue with Ibara on the PS2 not Mushihimesama.AntiFritz wrote:Does't it have 0 slowdown...?trap15 wrote:Mushihimesama on PS2 definitely has more slowdown than the PCB.dunpeal2064 wrote:Mushihimesama Futari is the only Cave port that actually has a bit more slowdown than the PCB (I think).
