DOJ white label to black label conversion
DOJ white label to black label conversion
The patch really does exist: http://ikotsu.blogspot.com/2012/01/dodo ... label.html
Has anyone here tried this out yet? Holy shit, I think it's time to rotate the monitor:).

Re: DOJ white label to black label conversion
Plus if you still have the green colored Varta back-up battery in place, with a 2nd DOJ BL variant conversion eprom, you can have both high score saving & high score initial saving functionality as well. How cool is that? Of course, the NVRAM is rewritten to take advantage of that particular saving feature but if the battery goes kaput, then both saving perks will vanish along with it. Is something worth considering if you do have access to an DOJ WL PCB with a back-up battery.
However, if you use this particular high score saving DOJ BL eprom on a DOJ PCB without the Varta battery installed, you'll come up with an error screen upon booting it up and will have to resort to use an earlier DOJ BL conversion eprom (that doesn't have high score/high score initial saving feature) to bypass this known problem/issue.
------------------------------
So thus by using this simple guide to determine which upgrade eprom would most benefit your DDP-DOJ WL PCB:
DDP-DOJ WL PCB with no battery - use 1st release DOJ BL upgrade eprom without saving functionality
DDP-DOJ WL PCB with battery - use 2nd revision DOJ BL upgrade eprom with saving functionality (with a newly installed Varta battery, plan on another four to six years {on the average} before replacing it again. Of course, your mileage will vary depending on how frequently the DOJ PCB is powered on.)
Easy as pie.

So do I, but just so that he will stop with the blindingly obvious facts. I think I'll just donate to the aspergers foundation instead though.shmuppyLove wrote:Goddamn I feel like I need to send some money to PCEFX after reading his posts.

Great info there, PC Engine Fan X!. Is the conversion rom image that I linked to the one that contains the high score saving? If not, can you point me to a place where I can download it?PC Engine Fan X! wrote:Plus if you still have the green colored Varta back-up battery in place, with a 2nd DOJ BL variant conversion eprom, you can have both high score saving & high score initial saving functionality as well. For jepjepjep,
You'll have to ask ol' Dave K. if his converted DDP-DOJ PCB has saving functionality or not.

Seriously though, I have nothing to do with these rom hacks.

Rom begging is against forum rules, pls don't ask. Rom patching is a different story.jepjepjep wrote:Is the conversion rom image that I linked to the one that contains the high score saving? If not, can you point me to a place where I can download it?

Re: DOJ white label to black label conversion
As best I can tell, the following games use this hardware:
DDP DOJ
DDP DOJ Black Label
Espgaluda
Ketsui
What would happen if I were to take one of these burned Black Label hack ROMs and plug it into my Espgaluda board set???

Re: DOJ white label to black label conversion
It wouldn't work, lol why would it be that simple. Only the program code is on that ROM.LeeB99 wrote:As best I can tell, the following games use this hardware:

Re: DOJ white label to black label conversion
Wow. That video is hilarious! If only the music and sprite data was on the game ROM as well...

I've uploaded the save hack here if anybody is interested, credit goes to austere for making it possible.Plus if you still have the green colored Varta back-up battery in place, with a 2nd DOJ BL variant conversion eprom, you can have both high score saving & high score initial saving functionality as well. Re: DOJ white label to black label conversion
Im sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but would it be possible to convert a mushi 1.5 pcb to BLK?
Nice work with the mods by the way

That's totally different hardware from the hack being discussed here.justin007 wrote:Im sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but would it be possible to convert a mushi 1.5 pcb to BLK?

Re: DOJ white label to black label conversion
The PCB eprom mod discussed here is referring to the Cave PGM based PCBs whilst you'd like your SH-3 board upgraded to a different version (something that Cave doesn't do for customers anyways), justin007. But yeah, it'd be nice if they did that type of PCB revision service.
So the only solution is to pick up either a barebones PCB or a complete PCB kit of Mushi BL to own/play.
