Reportedly they are using the same accessory connector, so your old accesssories will also work.

Ninty going to do something right for once?

like the classic controller that's missing two shoudler buttons? great.

i'm not sure what to think of the new pro controller. the position of the 4 main buttons seems awkward, but i also think it might actually be more comfortable to use than a 360 controller.

Don't worry about it. You can travel from the Milky Way to Andromeda and back 1500 times before the sun explodes.

Classic Controller Pro was much better than the original one, for sure. But also arcade joystick :D

I don't think swapping the face buttons and analog stick would make much difference in actual usage, and the slightly different configuration means they shouldn't have any patent hassles.

And yeah I think it might be more comfortable having the sticks at the top, since it means you don't have to contort your hands as much while operating the shoulder buttons. Just trying the two different positions with my hands, it's much more relaxed.

You would be amazed how much of a difference moving a stick can be to comfort and feel. I still can't comfortably use a Dual Shock after years of N64, DC, GC and XBox/360 play.

I think the more important aspect of this controller is the lack of tethering to a god damn wiimote an i'm guessing from the port on top that it has an internal battery that is USB chargable.

are the top triggers on the Wii-U controllers analogue? It's hard to tell from the images Nintendo have released. I think I'll be fine with the tablet, I'm used to a heaver controller as I always play with my 360 chat-pad attached. Just wish they'd announced more exclusives yesterday but still excited to get my hands on one.

I am always flabbergasted on how more comfortable the playstation digital controller is compared to the dual shock due to a certain way of holding it.

Definitely looking forward to holding one when a store has a Wii U demo kiosk.

There's quite a difference in size and shape between the two. I also find the Digital controller to be rather comfortable and try to use it when the game I'm playing doesn't support analog.

Here's something to add to Nintendo's sad pile:

It isn't 2005... Then again, Nintendo likes to keep things last gen. :?

I think that's a tad unfair imo.

Compile a list of how many games on both the 360 and PS3 actually run at 1280x720p. ;)

The next gen of consoles will run at higher res with more effects and better framerates.

Having everything at a minimum of true 720p is a step in the evolution process. With the gfx being used in the Wii U and reported to be used in the PS4 and X720 (which neither are cutting edge cards), this will be the reality of the next gen.

The problem is were sold a lie with the current gen stuff, as we believed that all games would be natively HD (i.e. minimum of 720p). The reality of that happening has been far from reality.

I'll apologise, pull my pants down and wait to be spanked!

There are quite a few games reported to be natively 720p on both the 360 & PS3...... but I don't trust the list given if I'm being honest.

There are also a few games that run in 1080p: Wipeout HD (1440x1080) and Rayman Origins (1920x1080?). I think the Wii U should be capable of displaying the new Mario and Rayman games in 1080p, but even in 720p it doesn't look much better than in 480p on the Wii, so going the extra step to 1080p isn't that big of a difference. Gameplay > Graphics.

But with PC games I'm now used to play in 2560x1440 and seeing that the "next-gen" of consoles still uses only a quarter of that resolution is kinda sad. I was really hyped for Wii U, but as long as they don't announce any good new games I'm not that interested anymore. A new New Super Mario Bros is nice, but I had hoped for something more creative, not just new levels / gimmicks for an old Wii game (that was a rehash of a DS game).

However, the representative said that some of those titles, like Pikmin 3, will run at 60 frames per second.
720p @ 60fps, huge accomplishment, gg guys
