Need more info about that, he was credited as Sound Director & Arranger on SDOJ/Maximum OST.
I never heard him talking about his musical skills.

He said something about being "apprenticed" to Ryu Umemoto, I think. Before that, he supposedly helped work on the Instant Brain soundtrack, though I don't think he composed anything.
