In other news, tape measures are easier to use when 80% of the numbers aren't faded into near oblivion.

Nice! I have a 27" Toshiba SD CRT that has similar connections, and the component video gives a super nice picture from my Wii, PS2 and 360.Blackbird wrote:Just picked up an awesome upgrade to my home gaming setup. Spotted a 26" RCA Flatscreen CRT at a yard sale for 20 bucks. I think it's a higher end late-gen CRT, as it even has a Component Video port in the back, in addition to S-Video and the usual Composite. Haven't tested Component yet, but the picture is very nice with S-Video. Pretty much everything you could ask for in a retro console display/arcade monitor, and the size of the display is just right.
It's pretty heavy, so I'll dedicate this one to horis and use my other 21" CRT as a dedicated vert display now.

They're kinda cheap/hollow feeling, with very shitty spring-back return. I've already swapped them out with Seimitsu buttons (only 'cause Sanwa hasn't done a clear button that you can put art into! Someone screwed up there...). I might keep it that way anyways, I like the feeling of the seimitsu's, it's less accidental to press.
these are supposed to be the specs for my one -

are they a crappy type of Sanwa button? - it say's they're these parts:
Original Sanwa Joystick (JLF-TP-8YT-SK)
- Original Sanwa Buttons (OBSF-30-W)
they seem to spring back up fine to me - having said that maybe I should order some buttons anyway as it's high time I forced myself to learn how to open up my sticks and replace buttons etc. :p

Sorry, I didn't know your stick actually came with official sanwa parts. No no, your buttons are good, if you're happy with them. The buttons that came with mine were just throw-away knockoffs, put in there for protecting the holes, mainly for shipping. Not the sanwa brand you have.Raytrace wrote:hmmopt2not wrote: Yeah, they're really bad when you compare them to the light-touch of the Sanwa buttons, or the sturdy press of the Seimitsu ones.

So glad they finally put that flyer art on the cover of the game where it belongs. Never understood not doing that on the PS2 release.trap15 wrote:Can't get more awesome than this!![]()

Man, what a dishonest ad: the seller described this as "acceptable", but no, it's actually brand new!

Now I don't have the guts to open the damn game. And I paid $18 for it.

It had a cool idea but the execution was horrible.

I originally bought it new from EB for like $6. I've not yet felt that i've gotten $6 out of it. In reality I don't think the game cube was the right console for it.Vyxx wrote:Touche!

Bought some time ago, put a crappy picture up, took it to bits and left it like that for 3-4 months.
Finally:

And yes, it took about as much work as it looks like it did - the dirt on that was so bad that touching any part under the playfield was instant black marks on your hands, the dirt up top was so bad that the yellow and green areas in the pop bumpers were a uniform shade of brown. The safe mechanism was broken and missing parts, I think I spent about $500 in parts on this one, and everything not replaced was hand polished piece by piece. Least enjoyable shop job I've ever done. Great game though.

Bought everything in this picture within the last month and a half [except the Wii, that's ancient], including the PS2 and GBA.
I probably should have left out FF10, haha. Not so awesome.

Slim PS2 is the greatest thing ever though. I picked one up fairly recently after having owned an original model for many many years (still kicking!), and it's like falling in love all over again.
PS2 = best.console.evar.

Man, and I almost bought FFX-2 instead. Damn my incompetence! ;D

Just got these in the mail. Threads of Fate really makes me wonder why Square didn't do more action based stuff, it's pretty enjoyable [although every section so far where you have to run from things is impossibly stupid], and Zone of the Enders is really good so far, although I've only been at it for an hour or so. Also, damn the protagonist to hell, his voice is annoying and he reminds me of Shinji too damn much.
I love how I can use an old non-analog PS1 controller to play, instead of the game bitching for me to plug in a DualShock 2.

They did (or funded/published) Brave Fencer Musashi, Cyber Org, Tobal 1&2 and Ehrgeiz (there's A LOT more to the console version than the coin-op one) for the PlayStation. And then some.null1024 wrote:Threads of Fate really makes me wonder why Square didn't do more action based stuff, it's pretty enjoyable [although every section so far where you have to run from things is impossibly stupid]
You'll need an analogue stick to get the most out of some of 'em, though (twin sticks in case of Cyber Org, actually).
I'm especially fond of the version with a separate power supply unit. Chipping one will make many games playable undubbed (FFX & FFX-2 in that number). Good to have a SCART lead for my CRT as well. What a console. I can't even be really pouty about a few PSX games not fully compatible.shmuppyLove wrote:Slim PS2 is the greatest thing ever though.

Threads of Fate is an amazing game.
Not much, but:

$3, $5, $20 respectively. Always wanted to watch Cagliostro.
Love AC4, never owned it, and the SC game... uh, let's just say it's so I can play Metal Wolf Chaos.
Anyone got a nice easy guide to oXbox modding?
