Isn't there a button that freezes the game for a second that you can tap so u can read the text?

Ah ha! It would be an amazing discovery if there was some kind of link between T.S. Eliot and Hellsinker.
The Fire Sermon in The Wasteland is an obvious Buddhist reference so maybe in there (although the quote on the site is from The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, my favourite poem in the English language).
Perhaps those of our members who are still actively using hallucinogenics could assist with this side of the research
lol... I would do it, But I can't even stand english poetry as my native language is a Romance Language...

English poetry... Ugh...

Did you read the Garland System engrish poetry? I think that I can stand.

A TOTAL KARMA COMPRESSOR SYSTEM NAMED "GARLAND"

(内側)
Think green.
fade to Black.
rise after red.
follow to blue.
and sing white until close our eyes...

Now this is poetry, baby!

Well if you could find a link between Hellsinker and Pablo Neruda that would be quite as amazing :D
I really like what trap15 has done with that research on the Raizing boss names and I bet something similar with Hellsinker would be just as interesting.

Yeah, curious about "Slug Lady", Apostles of the Seed, Astral Man-o-War, Perpetual Calendar (well, I know what a perpetual calendar is so it seems this is THE perpetual calendar, the one and only!), Sunken Bishop, Quiet Minstrel, Scarlet Queen (all red colour structure, female-like shape, yup), Rex Cavalier (well, this one is kind of a dead giveaway), Deadliar, Fossil Maiden, Kagura, the small spirit-fairy thingies (Tobarimaru, etc.?), Saint Mouve, Old Rose... and so many others!

Also, I think we once theorised the fact that the system had a kitten inside (the Lost Property you eventually find at the end) could explain the 'animalistic' behaviour (and plain brutal danmaku) of many of the enemies, on top of having four dead kids sealed inside techno-coffins guarding it...

WELCOME TO GARDEN HUGE ARCHIVE.

I don't think anybody's going to be reading this stuff outside of replays, tbh. It's hard enough to follow when playing with an invincibility hack on, haha.

Most of those are covered in the manual in some form, and the ones that aren't are covered in the novel parts. The manual is long and dense and that's really what's been holding things up for awhile now. There's still a bit left to go on those so I'm jumping the gun a little, but we'll see how that turns out.

Saint Mouve has been renamed to Saint Mauve. Not even my doing; that was part of the 1.0.0.9 changes. We just synchronized the change for the dialogue too. Maybe I should get a forum name change to go with it.

And much of the existing Engrish has been left alone. Mostly just typo fixes (OZZES -> OOZES, Thoned -> Thorned) and so forth, no grammatical changes. No changes to most of the existing pattern names or text. None whatsoever to either of the extra stages.

Starting final testing tonight, since everything in-game is set in stone now, but it's probably gonna take a few days to get through everything as the game needs to be 100%ed.

Yeah but can you keep from derailing things further here? Thanks.

This is not a discussion that really needs to be happening in the Hellsinker thread.

He already knows about the English translation. He's known about it since I first posted here. Not only that, if you look at the recent images on his twitter, you'll see that he posted a couple of the screenshots I put up, with some commentary about the font choices.

Aren't you the one being inconsiderate here, by asking him in English?

Y'all should chill. We got this.

I don't get how I'm inconsiderate. I didn't tweet again lecturing him about his lack of attention to english because I knew it was most likely he wouldn't respond. I was just a little sad about the fact that a lot of japanese guys don't care about people outside their country.

I asked him about T.S. Elliot just to be sure, I don't know japanese and ATLAS and google are quite bad, so I just went with your international english.

Besides, as an exception to the rule, I talk to a pair of japanese doujin artists in english and they answer me in japanese... google translation FTW (Well, on my side is ATLAS)... such nice guys.

Maybe I'm a bit spoiled.

Does anyone know anything about "bipedal ibex" by Tonnor? Seems like a new game but I can't find any info on it, just a lot of music on his Soundcloud that will presumably go into it.

Sorry to interrupt, but the T. S. Eliot domain isn't really much of a thing at all.

When the original hellsinker.net went down, knackerjack (who runs the wiki) picked it up in the hopes of either giving it back to the original owners, or trying to point it to the original site (if it was just the domain that expired). Unfortunately, it seems that he was able to do neither, so instead I guess he pointed it to where he keeps the rest of his vanity domains. (like thegreatmajority.com, among others)

Yeah, I know this discussion happened a while back, but I thought it might be useful to demystify it for good.

So why that particular quote by T S Eliot? Maybe he's just a thoughtful dude...
...the quote's about the ridiculousness of self-importance in the face of man's insignificance and inevitable mortality.
"I am no prophet": I cannot predict the future, and surely the karma compressor's purpose is to harness the forces of karma thus making the future clear at last.
"The eternal Footman" is Death ushering you into the afterlife, the role here fulfilled by Garland and/or The Shrine Of Farewell.
Lol- you could get a degree out of this stuff.

Oh fuck's sake you guys, can't you tell that mauve is maybe a little annoyed at us for dogging him about the patch release date (honestly can you not wait about 3 days, he said it wouldn't take that long), or are you just totally incompetent at judging a person's emotions? We underage 'sperges - you, Oskar, and to a lesser extent me - are probably some of the most hated members on the forum because we just don't know when to shut our yaps.

Acting like bratty internet 12-year-olds will not make things better for you. Shut up, learn some patience, and KEEP YOUR DIGNITY.

Ugh, sorry for the derail.

lol... Dunno what to say, just that I don't feel hated on this forum...

And, come on, it's my attitude really like some aspie? I'll have to go to the Doctor and tell him "hey Doc, I'm an aspie! I want my autism bux! Now give me my certification!" It would be a lot easier in my life... I'd have the opportunity to study on the university what I really like: Musicology instead of cooking...

How old are you again?

Anyway, you can't blame me for being exited, I never thought a patch would be made in the first place, now that someone is making it, I felt too exited and had to post again.
(keep in mind I have less posts than you in this thread, and only one asks how the patch is going along.)

The Aspergers cop-outs doesn't make any of you sound any better. :|

That being said however you've got a point. No one's this impatient in Development - tiaoferriera takes the cake for asking for the status of a new Xeno Fighters R download near on 10 days after the last ask, and that's a rarity (usually two weeks to a month+).

Excuse my bluntness but I HAPPEN TO BE AN ASPIE, and I propably have the most paitence of everyone here. Throwing things around like that to use as insults really shows the lack of education on the subject in the public. So don't use things as insults if you don't fully comprehend what it means. :x

On Topic plz!
Don't let this thread degenerate into more name calling- this is such an important development for a lot of people and the idea of having the fully translated English manual and patch for Hellsinker, and the secrets that will reveal and the mysteries that will explain, is a real breakthrough that deserves some proper respect.

It's sort of my fault for giving random status updates here and there and saying "Oh yeah real soon now!" I usually keep things under wraps right up until release 'cause of things like this, just been pretty antsy about this one for a few reasons.

Like, seriously. Watch me having missed something stupid like a mysterious hidden ending given very specific conditions will self-decrypt and show up as untranslated. Or something. I wouldn't put anything past this game at this point...
