TOKYO--Japanese game publisher G.Rev may not be the biggest publisher at this week's Tokyo Game Show, but its upcoming announcements will surely get people talking. The company said today that it will use the show to announce a title for Microsoft's Xbox 360, together with another surprise title, the platform of which is also a mystery. Details of both games will be revealed at the event, but considering the company is best known for its arcade shooters, it's possible that more twitch games are on the way.
G.Rev is one of the few remaining arcade developers in Japan that is dedicated to creating shooting games. Established in 2000, the company is known for a number of hit titles including Border Down and the recently released Senko no Ronde, which plays like a mixture of a shooter and fighting game.
G.Rev has a strong relationship with Sega, since all its arcade titles to date have been released on the Naomi platform. A G.Rev statement says all announcements will be made at Sega's booth.

Ahh, been waiting for this ever since officially G.Rev signed on as X360 devs. However this does make matters difficult for us X360 folks who won't be owning a JP region system. With MS claiming new anti-mod technology in X360... Let's hope we see a worldwide release for G.Rev's product right away.

Or you could just buy a JP X360. That's what I plan to do if GREV releases a shmup on it (Treasure could follow with a port of their upcoming Type-X arcade shmup).Thunder Force wrote:Ahh, been waiting for this ever since officially G.Rev signed on as X360 devs. However this does make matters difficult for us X360 folks who won't be owning a JP region system. Actually Treasure is working on a new 2D game for 360 according to www.gamefront.de . I'm hoping the other title is a DC port of Sendo too. *-neotwe wrote:Or you could just buy a JP X360. I have no doubt there will be a chip, but at what consequence. MS have been finding new ways to scan for any and all hardware mods to systems via Xbox Live (even with chips turned off, lately people have been claiming they are getting discovered by MS). Sounds like it will be a real pain to use Xbox Live with any modded system.DantesInferno wrote:The team behind the xecuter modchip have got their hands on two X360Dk Dev.
