ZOE 3 in development

Post by DragonInstall »

One of my favorite ps2 games, and favorite mech game of all time is finally getting a sequel.

Oh and the HD remakes of ZOE 1 & 2 will be out in Oct 25 sporting 60fps now.

It always baffled me how no other company has made a game like ZOE, or the fact Kojima took this long to finally continue the series.

Cheers.

Cool, finally some news on this. Hopefully it turns out well.. and it's on fox engine so should be multiplatform which is good for everyone.

The guys at Kojima Productions have probably wanted to make a new ZoE for ages now, but the Konami overlords demand moar Metal Gear. :P

Excited to hear about the HD collection, as I never got to play the first game and only have a Japanese language copy of the second. And after the ongoing tragicomedy of the Silent Hill HD Collection botch job, it'll be nice to get another Konami set of the MGS HDC's quality!

This is great news. HD ZOE is cool, but a new game? Honestly I didn't think there was enough of an appeal to get Konami to bankroll it.

In development for what?

If it's next gen...well, that's gonna suck.

I liked Omega Boost better than both on the PS2. I don't think The 2nd Runner is anywhere near the most remarkable action games on the platform. The final bossfight was a bad joke.

Finally, time to see some ridiculous mecha action again. Can't wait.
Why is it called the Vic Viper/Warp Rattler? Because the Options trail behind it in a serpent-like fashion, and the iconic front fins are designed to invoke the image of a snake's fangs.

Yeah after playing both ZOEs on hard a year ago I agree that 2's combat is at least worse than 1's.. not the best gameplay around

I feel the "swordplay" worked really well in 1 even again minor enemies, in 2 you're pretty much intended to abuse the throw and spin move and fights feel less dynamic + the fancy effects and enemy swarms cause slowdown and make targeting harder. But the graphics are definitely some of the best on the PS2 and I love the presentation and mech designs.

Hopefully they nail the gameplay for this one and it'll be multiplatform which afaik should be easy with the engine they're working on.

I hope platinum works on this.

Highly unlikely, but one can wish.

My only experience of ZOE is a couple of goes with buggy PS2 emulation so ZOE HD is my most eagerly awaited game this year.

It's good that we are seeing more fast Japanese flying mech games given I prefer the PC / Western style for walking mechs that don't boost / slide
