More proof the RIAA is completely out of touch with reality

So apparently the RIAA has tried to sue Limewire for $72,000,000,000,000. That's $72 Trillion! What the hell were they smoking and where can I get some? Thankfully the Judge threw out that request and called it "absurd". Looks like the RIAA could still try to get $1 Billion out of Lime Wire.

To put these numbers in prespective:

Current Total Amount of Existing US currency: $9.61 Trillion
Current Total Amount of Existing Global currency (Valued in USD): $60 Trillion

The RIAA wanted Limewire to pay more than there is currency on earth. How do you even come close to arguing that's lost revenue?

Note: This case was settled last May for the much smaller fee of $105 million.

That 72 Trillion dollar lawsuit is still absurd, but, unless I misread, it sounds like this happened a year ago.
