I just scored 103m on "Origin" just missing the 1CC playing with a game pad, lol.

But I go to the leader boards and my score isn't on there.

Anyone else having this problem?

You sure you're playing in Score Attack mode? (or whatever they called it in the translation)
I know I've occasionally gotten great runs in the regular Play mode that didn't get uploaded for that reason.

stupid cave ports strike again. i don't understand why the score attack mode should even be necessary. as long as your playing with default settings it should upload to the leaderboards automatically.

Yeah, it's a pretty rubbish Cave feature where you need to be playing score attack on the ports to register your intention of wanting recognition for your work. Otherwise they just assume you're messing around. You can always record your score here though (it just gets lost on XBL anway.)

Don't play Shin with a pad, it's an injustice! No wonder you dislike the ports so much.

You can't upload scores to a leaderboard on a PCB bud . Even if it's imperfect, its a tool that's worth using imo.

If you get a good score it might be an idea to take a photo or record a score like you would with a PCB it would act as a backup incase it does fuck up.

Nice! So far I'm only able to get around 35m to stage 4. And I hate that they always have a separate mode of play for uploading scores

I too found it odd that you need to specifically choose score attack... And on top of that, even when you choose score attack, at game over it asks you if you want to upload your score. Implying, I'm guessing, that you might have chosen score attack accidentally and also be deathly afraid of uploading your score.

This is the sort of precaution that you'd expect if you were trying to overwrite or delete a save file or something. What are they so afraid of? Why wouldn't a game just record your scoring exploits automatically? Is this some Japanese thing I'm just not getting?

Because it takes time to do so, and maybe you didn't like your run and don't want to bother taking the time to upload.

That's why I only ever play score attack, don't want to waste a good run.

I'm not sure how to ask this without sounding like an ass but I'm legitimately confused as to how you could reach stage 4 with only 35m. I basically did a pure survival run for my origin clear and I think I hit 120mil. I understand the basics of scoring but really have no idea where meaningful amounts of points actually come from. I got most of my points from survival focused bullet canceling.

You're remembering to cancel bullets with focus shot in phantom mode right?

DDPDFK I believe lets you have unlimited credits in Score Attack mode. Unless that's only the European version.

I always figured it was just a lazy form of anti-cheat, since if you lose your connection to XBL while playing a Score Attack game then it immediately kicks you back to the menu.

Not sure... i guess you could ask the other 20 people on the leaderboards with 30-40mil on stage 3 or 4 the same thing? i switch to phantom mode whenever I have the guage filled, then killing enemies for gold until it returns to "ship" mode, or i will end phantom mode early if i think my gold is going to disappear....

I didn't have access to my xbox when i posted that comment; so i may have been wrong, no need to get angry about it.

I don't see what the game options (where lives/rank settings are altered) has anything todo with being able to continue with a game over.
