Questions about character illustrators

Post by Elaphe »

I'd like to know who is behind Mushihimesama futari character illustrations. Maybe the same author of the first Mushihimesama artwork, Tomoyuki Kotani?

I don't know for sure either if the character designer and illustrator of the first Deathsmiles is Junya Inoue, alias Joker Jun. Can you confirm this?

Finally, the author of character artwork in Deathsmiles 2 is not the same as in Deathsmiles 1, am I wrong?

Joker Jun did deathsmiles 1's artwork.

Futari's artwork was done by HACCAN.

Nope, it is indeed JUN again, though obviously taking a different approach.

Do you know what other games has that 'Haccan' worked in, for Cave and also for other developers?

I know off the top of my head that he did Avalon Code on the DS - probably others too, but that's the only other one I know.

Haccan is a featured artist in Robot volume 2, with several pages devoted to his full colour manga:

This is a good summary: http://polymetrica.wordpress.com/2009/09/20/haccan/

He also did the covers for the Japanese printings of The Belgariad, which seems like a pretty unique gig.

Love his artwork, filled with such great detail and style. Just a shame it's so difficult finding a majority of his work at a high resolution. ;_;

Especially for images such as these:

Probably my favorite of the Cave-collaborated artists, next to Tomoyuki Kotani.

Me fool. One can find this info in the Cave Shooting Artworks, book that I own. At the beginning of every game section there's a page with info about the authors.
