Re: Turrican Soundtrack Anthology - Kickstarter
I'm putting down $25 for the digital copy. Love Turrican's music.

And we're funded. Huzzah!
Hopefully there'll end up being enough excess for the fourth disc.

High fives all around, everybody. We just supported the fine art of music. Badass nineties Aimiga music.
Why is it called the Vic Viper/Warp Rattler? Because the Options trail behind it in a serpent-like fashion, and the iconic front fins are designed to invoke the image of a snake's fangs.

It sounds tempting, but I'd really like to see what the hell it looks like. Of course, we won't know for a while. So now I have to question if I want to bump up my pledge. Decisions, decisions.antares wrote:USB stick in Turrican Design which holds the music from all games recorded from original hardware!! very cool
Chris also seems like the coolest guy ever. He just likes making his music and being generally boss as hell.

Re: Turrican Soundtrack Anthology - Kickstarter
4th cd funding goal's been passed.
Re: Turrican Soundtrack Anthology - Kickstarter
I asked Chris if ALL the music from the games will be included on the stick and he replied it will indeed include all tracks form Turrican 1, 2, 3 (Amiga), Super Turrican 1 + 2, Mega Turrican and a few selected tracks from the C64 games! woohoo!!!

Does it matter? Who's using CDs in this day and age? I can't even remember the last time I played an audio CD. I create mp3s (and/or FLAC files) of all CDs so I can keep all my music in one place, easily and quickly access and transfer it to mp3 players and other devices as needed.psoslayer wrote:...but not on CD?
I assume that's what most people do. Simply create a backup if you worry about losing the files.
Re: Turrican Soundtrack Anthology - Kickstarter
Are you serious? I can easily download most Turrican tunes for free, legal. I demand them on CD, that's what makes this project special. Besides the orchestra tunes there won't be anything new anyway.Friendly wrote:Does it matter? Who's using CDs in this day and age? I can't even remember the last time I played an audio CD. I'm glad it will feature 4 CDs now though, thank you huelsbeck!!

Re: Turrican Soundtrack Anthology - Kickstarter
They announced a mechanical musical box that would play 'The Great Bath' - unfortunately it got caught in my spam folder for a number of hours. That number of hours was enough for all of them to sell out at $1500 each...
Yeah, I would have bought one.

Another nice CD Box Set project with Huelsbeck music, main ST was composed by Andre Neumann though.

I'm a bit dicey on the Dux KS, wasn't overly impressed with Fast Striker and as far as I know, Dux generally got slated. But damn, the DC box looks pretty... Anyways I threw $50 at the Turrican set, though original recordings of the Amiga music is tempting me at another 25.

When I pledged, the KS site offered me an option to skip signing up and pledge via my Amazon account i now want to up the pledge, but that option seems to have vanished, and there's no mention on my Amazon account either. Anyone?

While on the turrican kickstarter page:Marc wrote:When I pledged, the KS site offered me an option to skip signing up and pledge via my Amazon account i now want to up the pledge, but that option seems to have vanished, and there's no mention on my Amazon account either. Anyone?
Manage pledge(blue button under number of days to go)
Change your pledge amount(remember to also change your reward selection tier if that's what you want to do, it will not do so automatically).
Scroll down to the bottom of the page
Hit continue
Then it should go through the amazon process you did previously.
Re: Turrican Soundtrack Anthology - Kickstarter
Found it in the end, seems I have to log into Kickstarter with my Amazon details, which it's automatically set me up a login with, which is slightly perturbing.

Re: Turrican Soundtrack Anthology - Kickstarter
first track of the anthology, The Final Challenge, is available for download to anyone who pledged (if you are reading and haven't shelled 5$ on this project yet, what's wrong with you?)

So to my undertsanding they will charge your card on June 3rd?
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

They added 4 more musical boxes today at 7pm CEST. All four were gone within 20-25 seconds, but one of them went to me

Re: Turrican Soundtrack Anthology - Kickstarter
What's wrong with me is that I'm wondering why he needed $75,000 to record stuff off old consoles. I would expect it's expensive, but more in the range of half that. Granted the orchestral part will be very expensive, but wasn't that being billed as an extra anyway?Turrican wrote:first track of the anthology, The Final Challenge, is available for download to anyone who pledged (if you are reading and haven't shelled 5$ on this project yet, what's wrong with you?)
Also, HVSC and consoles work just great for me. Happy it's being done, of course!
Re: Turrican Soundtrack Anthology - Kickstarter
I think you've got it the wrong way: the 3CD set (well, now 4 CD set) is entirely composed of new arrangements of the Turrican soundtracks. Basically the Amiga trilogy is completely re-scored with modern instruments. The recording straight from consoles is only for the optional USB drive which will contain the original sound versions, and that wasn't in the original plan, it was something that they came up with later, to meet fans' demands.Ed Oscuro wrote:What's wrong with me is that I'm wondering why he needed $75,000 to record stuff off old consoles.
