XBL DotW Pt.3 - CAVE and Other Stuff

Post by NeoStrayCat »

http://bit.ly/ID9Wc9

As seen on this link, seems CAVE puts up a rather rare Deal of the Week which includes...

Black Label DLC's for 600MSP (DeathSmiles JP, DDP Res. JP, and Mushi-Futari)
Guwange for 400MSP
Nin2-Jump for 200MSP

(Although not CAVE related...Haunt and Virtual-On:OT are half off too.)

Bought guwange and futari bl (don't yet have the game though). Never really liked guwange but can't say no to half price.

Does this only apply to the Japanese XBL? I never did pick up that Futari Black Label DLC...

Since this is a worldwide DotW "Op Intensify", this also includes the BL DLC for Futari, so yes. Of course DS and DDP DLC are JP Marketplace only.

Yeah. My silly friend bought the Futari DLC thinking it was the full game. Gotta love that instant no refunds policy. Ones and zeros are just SO hard to return.

This topic is releated anyway, lol, since now I've heard the Plat. release of Virtual On Force is region free and cheap for around $40(+taxes) at Play-Asia though.

As far as I am aware Guwange was always 400, I bought it about 4-5 months back when it wasn't on deal and it cost that many.

The Futari Ball DLC might be because of the misspelling of it's name on the EU marketplace "Black Lavel" etc.

Wow! Maybe that's the special "Gold Membership" price then. I never realised the price til this thread.
Are there any other good 400MSP shmups?- most of the one's I've seen weigh in at 800 and 1200 so that makes Guwange a real steal.

VO4 is definitely worth buying if you like the series.. 2v2 is a lot of fun and you have a lot of mechs to use. But the main problem is it's far harder to set up matches in it because you need to find four people to play with and the host needs to have average connection to all players (for example if playing with 3 japanese people you need a japanese player to host for less lag)

@lemonhead: sadly you need to have XBL gold subscription to get these discounts. I'll have a friend check if the futari BL dlc is actually discounted if I can

and no, guwange hasn't always been 400 msp lol.. it's been on sale for 400 once or twice though. it certainly was 800 on release

Pretty sure Guwange is normally 800 BUT around the time Illyrian mentioned there was a deal going on for Guwange, Radiant Silvergun and Bangai-O HD among others getting a price cut.

Definately a possibility.

I dunno if gold membership makes a difference to price as well though

I didn't think Gold made a difference in price itself but accessibility to stuff is a week earlier for some things like demos. I could be wrong though as I don't have a LIVE Gold account myself.

Yeah, I can confirm this deal is limited to Xbox Gold.

I can't recommend NIN2, it has some awful filter overlay that can't be removed. Everything else I either have or don't need (ie. DFK BL), oh well.

I can, that filter is one of the only flaws.. not a big deal. Time trialing the last worlds and playing score attack mode is a lot of fun, definitely worth 200msp. (and score attack has music remixed from akai katana)

THX NeoStrayCat for the tip, I wasn't expecting these to ever appear on sale so I jumped at the chance of buying the Cave loot I hadn't gotten around to purchasing. Picked up VOOT since I enjoyed the demo.

Nin2jump is well worth 200- 400 msp, its a fun little speed runner even if the S ranks are piss easy. I wasn't that good at playing the time trials (edit doh!) score attack though. I dont really mind the filter personally

Do all of you who are getting these deals have Japanese XBL Gold accounts? Is that the only way to get these on sale?

The only things you need a japanese gold account for is dfk black label dlc and deathsmiles mbl.

Which isn't really necessary, since MBL on Deathsmiles JP is included on the Platinum release, and a Retail BL of DDP Resurrection JP (Which has a double pack released). Of course this applies to 1.5 Retail for the Add-On though.

As it happens, I got one month of Xbox Live Gold for $1 and was hoping for a good sale this month. Looking at the dashboard I thought it was just the Battlefield 3 DLC on sale this week and almost missed this!

Man, Guwange is a bit weird. I should probably not have tried Xbox 360 mode first... Arcade is much more manageable right now.

Espgaluda II Black Label is the name of the Xbox 360 retail release of Espgaluda II, which is also available as a download on the Games on Demand Service on the Japanese XBL Marketplace. It includes the original low-res Arcade mode, an HD Xbox 360 mode, and modes that are exclusive to the home port being an Arrange mode by Yagawa, Black Label mode, and an unlockable Omake! mode. I think it is great value for 2,600 yen.

There was never any DLC for Espgaluda II, so if you get either the disc based game or the GoD download version you should be set. I´m even tempted to get the GoD release to shelf my disc for good.

Get used to the normal game first and if you can at least get to stage 2/3 give 360 Arrange another go. I think you'll find it's piss easy for survival purposes once the controls start making sense to you, but I'm having some problems getting a high score. I only got as high as 90th or some high number in the leaderboards anyway I think.

I've barely played normal guwange and almost 1ccd 360 arrange first try. Chainings 20x easier too.
