Sorry man but really, for the past few days I been watching this guy going around acting like he has no idea that these games are meant to be played primarily for score and here he's taking that idiocy a step further by talking about he'd lose respect for Deathsmiles if he found out it took inspiration from something else in its graphic design. Who the fuck cares? At the end of the day it's just about having fun actually playing the games and getting better scores.

Even though I pretty much only play to get better scores and got on this board mainly from reading scoring strategies. Getting better is not a process of last-to-first.

And, another error (this time logical error) of yours is that me declaring a widely-held notion about originality means I would (your words not mine) "Lose respect for deathsmiles". I wouldn't lose it. Not at all. It wouldn't change the gameplay at all. It would, however, change the truth-value of the statement "deathsmiles is the originator of the complete, combined art style of the game". How's that controversial?

I went for the arcade mode only. The smartphone versions appeared too passive and even easier. I like how the more free and precise controls on iOS allows me to to play with harder bullet patterns otherwise it's too easy to be interesting. ...Does the smartphone version have much challenge to it beyond pure scoring? Wondering if I should buy that version as well.

Yes, saying that it would "take it down a notch" does seem to imply to me that your opinion of the game would go down if you found it "copied" something else.

Yes. Take it down a notch. That says nothing for how many "notches" there are on the scale. If there are 1000 notches on the grading scale and I took it down 1 notch... You do the math. Actually I should do it for you. That's 1/10 of one percent. Does that sound fair? Happy now? ... Of course not... I'd say don't bother with this shit anymore either. That's the most sensible thing you've said.
