About the shmupmame issue, it seems it works properly with the .bak file if you use the decompressed files.

So has anyone found the Secret mode yet? I haven't had a chance to play this yet but the first thing I'm doing is testing some of the Raizing and Cave unlock codes.

A note, there's no confirmation of you being in secret mode until you start the actual game.

BTW Trap, isn't the main difference bettwen Panzer and Tiger the shot type? can you do something to compensate the loss of that difference?

The only difference now is speed and appearance, and I think I like it better that way. Maybe I should have had Tiger default to forward shot, but it just doesn't really seem that important.O. MAME will load by CRC, so if you have the original file with the correct CRC but wrong name in the zip then MAME will load that because it thinks it's the file it wants, hence it finding the bak file and loading it.omgdmp wrote:Yeah using shmupmame but found the solution. If the ship speed is this, and the collision check is like that... it means a bunch of lucky situations and ramming through wall of bullets... And I think I did that already quite a few times.

Yes, the ships are only different from original in speed and shot-type.

The point of special mode is to be stuck with the most useless shot type, but with the power ridiculously boosted. It's not for serious play, just to fuck around (medal suggested it, if that explains its existence any better).
I don't think the collision is an issue, and making it check twice as often will probably make the game slow down a lot.
Anyways, I may release a patched version if significant issues are found, or I come up with something that I just have to add. But for now, this is going to be the final release.

See here. Every bullet has a bit that indicates whether collision is checked or not and it's flipped every frame. That's not something unique to Ketsui but basically how all Cave games work. Can't get it to work, I use shmupmame v3.0b and have tried a newe mame release trought CMD.
Am I doing it wrong when Im doing this:
Make a new folder Ket ---> unzip the Ket.zip rom in the folder ---> drag the map in the ketarr.exe ---> rezip the ket folder and lay the zip in rom folder?
