With HOTD4 and a new version of Umbrella Chronicles coming out... I might have to get a PS3 - damn.

Sega should get their act together and start releasing all their gun/arcade games. Put two on a disc and make some easy cash.

Yeah, and fat lot of good that did. You could market Halo 4 as a Kinect game and it'd still drop, simply because people don't own the device. They're compensating for the price of the device--the device which most people won't have, and buying would total above the cost of the game alone. More like a "cutting off your nose to spite your face" thing.

There's a cab nearby to where I live, and I play it once in a while. Good fun, although the fact that I usually don't have change and the fact that the change machine is usually out of service tends to mean I ignore it.
Not too expensive per credit [$0.50, instead of $1], thank goodness. I remember when Time Crisis 4 came out, and I'd only play Time Crisis 3 right next to it because it was cheaper :D.

If I had a PS3+Move, I'd be pretty damn excited.
If there was a Wii version, I'd be really damn excited. Speaking of Wii stuff, is Overkill any good?
Time Crisis 4 at my Gameworks used to be $2.50 a play (10 credits @ a quarter per credit, unless you bought like $25+) when it first came in, but I did better at it than TC3. A few months later, one of the employees was amazed at seeing my score hovering right at 5,000,000 right before the final boss battle started. The German choir music is fucking awesome- like Wolfgang Krauser's Mozart BGM in Fatal Fury Special.

This HOTD 4 announcement is as good as when Sega announced After Burner Climax. Hopefully the reticle can be turned off. I'm guessing $10 on HOTD 3 and $15 on HOTD 4.

Shame about 4 Special changing the escape feature to button mashing. I found that annoying in Sega's other gun game Rambo- plenty of times there I was wishing I could just shake the gun original HOTD 4 style. How the hell can a responsible player whack others or the cabinet with the gun?

Gale Racer could've been better if Sega had stuck to sprites as in Rad Mobile and taken a little more time with the porting. GR's vehicles are rendered in POLYGONS and you'll see one image where there's dropout on one of the cars. The draw distance is highly suspect as well, leaving you a bit less time to respond to other cars. Here's "Glitched to hell", an Assembler Games thread about GR's glitches.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

They tried that and it didn't work.

Oh yeah, it didn't work because they included two of their most WTF gun games - Gunblade and LA Machineguns. Line of Fire is probably more well known.

Jurassic Park collection
HOTD collection
Virtua Cop collection
and some randoms.

Can't be that hard, can it? But then, Sega couldn't sell booze to an alcoholic :(

I have seen both of those in more arcades than I have seen Line of Fire. I found both to be quite a bit of fun and very deserving of ports, and so I now have the collection for Wii. SEGA released some other two game collections with HotD 2 and 3 for Wii and a Virtua Cop collection for PS2 (though that one didn't reach the US). Jurassic Park probably isn't coming any time soon due to the license (and the first one didn't use a gun). I would definitely like to see a Virtua Cop 3 port and a better port of the original House of the Dead, though.

I have been waiting for this for a long time. I really hope that sega releases also VC 3.
By the way does someone know if Gcon3 works with ps 2 compatible guncon2 games? I am talking if we play them on a retrocompatible ps 3

I don't know that it would be practical to use the Guncon3 for this game-you'd have to have the "bar" for it set on the bottom of your HDTV, and then the Playstation Eye camera on the top. Plus, I have heard that the Guncon3 is not very comfortable. (The Guncon2 was pefect, IMO.)

I've never tried out the Move gun attachment; I wonder if I could at Best Buy?

Amen. The Saturn HOTD was shit because of the bad framerate. Shame about the PS2 VC collection not including 3- I think it could've been done on PS2, albeit with maybe watered down graphics (like OutRun 2 SP's PS2 port which isn't arcade perfect but good enough if you don't have Xbox or PC). Maybe this gen we'll see that?

Hopefully the PS3 HOTD 4 will keep the shaking system in.

Port 2 Spicy and all will be right.

We got D&Bs where I live where you can play just about anything but 2 Spicy. Its really expensive though.

HOTD3 is out on psn
The emulation seems spot on, upscaled to 4:3 720p OR better yet, it seems like it´s being rendered at 720p. It´s in 60FPS and looks fantastic. During my first play I suddenly got an error saying there is no player 2 configured. So I just configured my remote control to be player 2. Don´t know how that happened, but it´s not that important.
No I need to get the sharpshooter. and for 5-6 bucks! Amazing. If you have a move and camera and like light gun games, well I don´t need to tell you what to do. I´ve shut down my ps3 out of fear of another ylod and I´m playing with just the move without gun attachment. By the way that glowing ball on the move controller is really hurting my eyes. :palm:
This game has lots of options, lives, credits, blood color, aggression level.
This game has calibration as well.
I´ve seen this game on US PSN $6,99, UK PSN GBP4,79 and NL PSN €5,95
It also plays very well and intuitive. Why is this so cheap?

To clear up a few things, as someone who has move with a large TV.

Positives:
Each game has it's own calibration menu, that is actually really accurate, even on a large 40 inch LCD like my housemate has. It's not 100% perfect, but definately 95% perfect.

Negatives:
There is some aiming lag, i.e. when you move the gun across the screen the crosshair follows slightly behind it rather than directly with it. For me anyway.
The standard gun attachment for the move has a HORRID trigger, it's just not springy and responsive enough. This is fine for games where you have a machine gun, but in a game like HOTD3 where you need to reload etc. it's a problem. It's already made Time Crisis 4 basically unplayable for me.

Gonna have to look into other gun attachments and get HOTD3, would make a change from the PC version and aiming with a mouse!

I never found an option to turn off the crosshair in the menus for the games in the Razing Storm triple pack, only to change the appearance of the crosshair's design.

Incidentally for those of you considering buying PS move for this, the triple pack with TC4, Razing storm and Deadstorm Pirates is currently a steal at £15 on the european amazon website!

...why? The games still require skill.

I reckon it's a good compromise to deal with the slightly less than perfect accuracy of the guns, and it makes the games more accessable for new players.

I Just want to be able to play them as they were intended without the on-screen sight, just a thing I hate about these re-releases of gun games. you would think that "move" would be accurate enough to allow shooting without a on -screen guide.

Being forced to rely on an onscreen cursor because the gun isn't accurate enough to do without isn't my idea of fun. It pretty much makes it a completely different game, and one I'm not particularly interested in playing.

I can't wait for this but I have to put it off for awhile. I think my favorite boss in HotD 3 is the giant sloth. Such a fun battle. I've been drooling for 4 far too long.

I wish Sega would overhaul the visuals in HotD 1&2 for us. They're past the point of showing thier age but I don't wanna stop playing, especially 2. Such a wonderful aesthetic to that game, chaos on the streets of Venice. I'm calling The Magician as my favorite boss in that one.

Uh oh... I feel a play through comin' on :)

EDIT - Also House of the Dead for iOS please!

Does anyone know the release date of HOTD4 yet?

Also I went online a few hours after HOTD3 came on there and already someone had thrown a replay on there that was knocking on the door of the world record!

First I was counting the weeks, then the days, now the hours... less than 48 hours to go. I haven't been this hyped for a game in years.

Come Wednesday the phone will be off the hook, fridge stocked, curtains drawn and anyone who comes a knocking will get a cheap plastic machine gun in their face.

I´m almost as hyped as as HOTDIII.
Last time I was hyped up like this, dunno it´s been years :|
I´m counting down as well, I hope it doesn´t get delayed on the European psn.
The Sharp Shooter is lock and loaded, the move controller has been charged.

EDIT:
Is it better to play with move usb connected?
If you connect the move via usb does the data go through the usb, will it be faster, less laggy?
I have tested with usb cable and it seems quicker with usb connected, but perhaps my mind is playing tricks on me.

i hope it isn't delayed. I'm not a Playstation plus member, but when I've looked to see whats available for plus members I haven't found the demo...

As for the USB connection I'll have to do some tests. Move performance seems to differ between games. So far I've found the best to be Razing Storm.

I know that with the drift inherent in Move games it's going to be really difficult to get critical hits in Umbrella Chronicles.

The Sharp Shooter is a very good peripheral, but ass expensive. I got it to celebrate these HOTD releases
It´s up on HK. 4007MB free space needed for download and probably another odd 4000 for the installation. The psn+ demo is out on US PSN
