I don't like fighting games that much in the abstract (so much time to spend to get any decent at them) but I can't deny they do appeal to my competitive spirit much better than shmups

And yes, they take ages to learn. I've been playing them on and off for a while now and the only game I have even basic competence at is 3rd strike.

Haha, I mostly meant no shmups playing (unless someone wants to laugh), and I can stick to fighting games, my budget just requires a 100% win rate I'd rather try out Skullgirls right now though, and hope it manages to take off...

We have recently come to the conclusion that Spadgy doesn't actually exist, he's just an excellent piece of creative writing! Feel free to try to disprove that soon though

Completely unrelated, but I'd be very curious to know why the cabs we used on Tuesday let me keep playing and playing after winning, when they didn't do that today We had to switch to the (worse) cabs today, where the sticks and the buttons don't work well enough.

(I did get the better controller of the two too, which makes me sad... I don't want to win because the other guy's stick has a loose balltop and buttons that sometimes misfire, much as I don't want to lose because my HP only registers two thirds of the time and stick motions are occasionally dropped).

Paint targets with your special shot, then blast them to raise your multiplier. Or something.

Max multiplier is x16. I think.
