Gatling Gears PC with Nvidia 3D Vision on a 50 in. 3DTV

Post by sammaza »

This is shmup heavan. Everyone here needs to go get 3D Vision or 3D TV and play this game with 50% depth and set your convergence on your robot. As a Cave gamer I can say that Gatling Gears in 3D Vision makes all other shmups look like crap.

I wish I could show everyone what I am seeing. This is next gen shit right here! 8)

Ah ok, I thought it was an arena-style twin-stick, but it's scrolling, like Shock Troopers. Actually looks very cool and the bosses look insane!

I'd love to see what some of the older, more traditional pseudo-3D shmups like Einhander or Raystorm would look like in real 3D. I wonder if it wouldn't affect the gameplay?

Yeah, it's really more of a run 'n gun, so I'm moving this to Off Topic.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

I am on the last boss of level 4...This has been the sickest shmup experience ever...In a few years when all games look this good and everyone has 3D technology I am sure this thread will get some more responses!

Have this on the x360. It's quite a bit of fun.......you blow up lots of shit. Then you blow up more shit. Then just in case some shit survived you shoot it again. The bass gets a little overboard and I actually have to turn this game's sound down to play it. :)

The end guy on the hardest setting in his last form fills me with much rage. :( Buddy of mine and myself have come quite close to dropping his ass.....but we always fail. :|
What's that spooty spoot king of the spoots stupid spoot guy doing here?

Tried this last night with "fake 3D", i.e. anaglyph using the iZ3D driver on a 50" plasma. Still pretty cool. Can imagine how much better with true active shutter based 3D.

I haven't been impressed by 3D technology thus far. I must admit, though, that my only experience with it has been with the 3DS. If all 3D is like that, I would have to write it off as a gimmick.

Totally dark room, full on surround sound, up close to a 50" or bigger, going down dark hallways in something like Left 4 Dead. I thought it was pretty interesting.

Wasn't too impressed with this game. Felt too much like the run'n'gun equivalent of a Euroshmup (a Eurorun'n'gun?). It does look really nice though.

Only 3D that ever impressed me was Avatar in the theater. You really need a big screen for it to really impress.
3DS is fine and all, but it's not much. Neato, but not anything earth-shattering.

The game looks pretty interestingish. It does seem like it would look pretty cool in 3D.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Just finished it ... So sad I dont have more levels to view.

@ Stealthlurker

Can you increase convergence so that your robot is perfectly visible without glasses...? I think you will get the effect even with the Anaglyph. When you set the ground to be at screen depth everything comes alive...it's kinda like the holograms from Star Wars

2D gaming is ghey!

Seriously...Everyone must get 3DTV Play enabled with your bigscreen and set your convergence on your robot (Or the ground to get even more "pop-out" effect)

Yeah I can adjust the convergence and all sorts of things all over the place. Works nice for quite a few games. Doesn't work too well though in Starcraft 2 in some things, but overall looks pretty cool.

Alright now you're just be ridiculous lol. I like to think I'm an open minded guy who'll give lots of things a good honest try, but it's annoying when people get all "polar" with their interests. Reminds me of junior high/highschool kids that only swear by one genre of music and everything else utterly sucks. haha

From what others have said racing games totally rock on a 3D TV due to the depth of vision.

If you like GG you might like Sega's Renegade Ops.
Also doesnt Sina Mora have a special 3D mode?

Renegade Ops is SICK!

Thanks for the recommend!

It looks just like Gatling Gears on the bigscreen in 3D...I think there is even more going on in Renegade ops 3D than Gatling Gears ...it is just amazing. I set convergence on the main vehicle and everything pops right out of the screen...explosions, buildings, guns.

Sina Mora looks so awesome...If It come out for PC expect a 3D Review from me...
