I remember playing the demo years ago and being turned off by being unable to rebind the keyboard controls. Can keyboard controls be rebound in this version? Either in-game or through a config file?

As far as I can tell the scoring mechanics are pretty straightforward and linear, but I can't tell how exactly the multiplier works (it looks survival based but it goes down sometimes, I got to x16 on stage 5), whether there's any penalty for spamming the

If you're talking about Exceed 3rd, then no it's not that difficult

Basically the multiplier drops if you:
1. Get hit/bomb
2. Kill enemies while too far away from them (less than 1/2 the screen roughly or you drop multiplier)

Max multiplier on exceed 1 and 2 is 256 (I think), I dunno about exceed 3 though.

Oh, sorry, I did mean Exceed 3rd, and thanks! I was hoping the scoring system wouldn't be a clearcut "survive, get points", since the early stages are pretty bland and I need my scoring carrot. The final stage is pretty sweet especially on Hard, and the Extra stage could be fun, but having to unlock it every single credit won't be :s

Exceed 2nd did have a scoring mechanic with the chain and the rank/extend system, and the Special weapon looks like it's begging to have some scoring gimmick tacked on top of it. Oh well, back to Exceed 2nd for me!

I would say that BPs scoring system doesnt have the same overly complexity as CAVE but I wouldnt call scoring revolving around proximity and speed killing based on survival. There is an art to quickly getting the multiplier up to x64 and keeping it there.

I know this game is supposedly coded poorly, but my system specs are FAR above the requirements and it's still lagging like hell on Normal mode (oddly enough the title screen runs at like 5 FPS). I'll post them when I get the chance, and if you guys have any tips to get it to run better that'd be great.

My current theory (as suggested by Jaimers) is that it's speed-kill chaining that affects the multiplier, which would explain a few things... like why that guy pulls back at some points (all the way down to the bottom of the screen sometimes), and the virtues of bombing immediately at the start of stage 1 at least.

Though I've had very variable results regardless, the stage 1 bomb in particular ranging from anywhere to nothing to an instant x8 (why thank you!), with no change bigger than a few pixels or a couple frames.

Hopefully, we don't need to theorise a lot. I think the fine parts of the scoring mechanics are something we can drop to Tennen-Sozai.

This happened to me. Was cleared up early AM the next business day, but was a pain since so many other services have 24 hour customer support.

I had the same problems with BMT Micro when I first started accepting order for XOP Ultra Bundle. I think it gets cleared up eventually.

But yeah, kind of sucks. I'd reccomend using Regnow instead.

EDIT: Although I just used it, the version still says 1004 in the game. I'm guessing this is just an error on their part as the zipped file does claim V1005.
