Oh the buttons are backwards though! Though for most shmups you don't really need more than 3, but I always prefer:BulletHeaven wrote:SG in NES case (with 'blazblue' stick, all sanwa parts)
1 2 3
4 5 6
Especially for the "Esp" games where you can set rapid shot on 4, you can use your thumb and still have your first three fingers for the top row.
I'd definitely like to see more pics of the "sNESergun" - to the Supergun thread!

What game is that? Here is Panasonic S20 in TATE mode. The walls need a fresh layer of paint like there's no freaking tomorrow...
It looks Cave-ish, but almost 3D? Is that SDOJ?

Not fancy, but it lets me use both my HDTV (PC monitor, standard console games) and my tate component CRT from the comfort of my recliner

Just bought a VH236H, and 1CCed two CAVE shmups(CAVE shmups always have been my nemesis, never had any luck beating them) right after I tated it, should've done this much earlier.
EDIT: Slightly better pics

Re: Show your Tate setup thats not a cab or arcade machine
i still need to get some sort of degaussing coil someday, but this spot of impurity isn't nearly as bad as it looks here.
i'm just glad i can finally play in tate mode too... took me a while to get the idea of how i could set up my furniture to make space for this.

Don't worry about it. You can travel from the Milky Way to Andromeda and back 1500 times before the sun explodes.

doesn't it have an internal coil ? the connector is most probably loose.ryu wrote:i still need to get some sort of degaussing coil someday, but this spot of impurity isn't nearly as bad as it looks here.

ghetto degaussing - if you put another tv/crt in front of this one, screen to screen, and degauss the working one the second will also degauss.
much better then waggling a magnet in front of it.

Re: Show your Tate setup thats not a cab or arcade machine
interesting. this is the first time i've heard about this. yes the monitor has internal degaussing, but from what i've heard these models generally seem to have this kind of issue when used for tate. the impurity isn't really there when i have it set up horizontaly.matrigs wrote:doesn't it have an internal coil ? the connector is most probably loose.ryu wrote:i still need to get some sort of degaussing coil someday, but this spot of impurity isn't nearly as bad as it looks here.

guess i'll try your solution anyways, thanks for the hint.

Re: Show your Tate setup thats not a cab or arcade machine
I have a tate 14" pvm and all it took was time to rid of the impurities and if you return to the original orientation then it also takes time to become perfect again. Also it helps to only move the crt when its off, you can get some funky colouring when you rotate it while its on (not that I do that
).

Re: Show your Tate setup thats not a cab or arcade machine
yeah that ghetto degaussing method didn't help. It got fixed for a little moment while the degaussing was taking place, but instantly reverted to the impurity after that.
I've heard that quite often, but apparently it shouldn't take too long, should it? My current tate monitor ahs been in that position for a few weeks now.rugdoctor wrote:I have a tate 14" pvm and all it took was time to rid of the impurities

Re: Show your Tate setup thats not a cab or arcade machine
should just take less than an hour at most, can probably try the tate'd monitor in a different area of the room? Worst case senario is to get a degaussing wand and use that to do the degaussing for you.

Starting at $72 for a rotating wall mount.
Edit: I didn't realize you were in the UK. I don't know how bad shipping would be, but I imagine someone else knows of a good place over there...

Well finally got my RGB TATE setup going. Seems like it took forever. The geometry isn't the greatest and the picture is a little wavy at times but I can deal with it. So glad to have this in my collection.

Been wanting a Sony PVM monitor for a long time now. They're really hard to find...

Re: Show your Tate setup thats not a cab or arcade machine

got the ghettotate + supergun set up in a set place again for the first time in a while. not always ghettotate (sometimes ghettoyoko!), but usually.
some cheapo JVC TV i snagged from somebody on kijiji for free, has great component picture! supergun's the ol' faithful VEGA 9000 DX (w/ PSX and Saturn adapters, too!). CPS2 below, other JAMMA above, and a Yaroze i got on the cheap. need to snag a second Saturn for this setup and find a place to put my MVS and PGM carts that isn't out in the living room, hahahaha!
