PS3/no games
PS3/no games
Not a troll thread. I recently got a PS3 and can't figure out what to get next. (PS3 exclusives, since I have a 360 as well.) Kind of set on these:
3d Dot Game Heroes (but heard it isn't that great?)
Ico/SoTC (never played either to any level of completion)
I was really excited about the exclusive Zen Pinball tables and Wipeout HD, but both of those were kinda disappointing. I liked Little Big Planet 2. But starting to forget why I got one of these in the first place.

Demon's Souls and Valkyria Chronicles are currently the only games I own for the system. Both are phenomenal.

Demon's and Dark Souls obviously come to mind, those are simply great.
If you like non japanese RPG, you definitely want to check Fallout : New Vegas. There is a lot of stuffs to be done in here and the game can be played in many ways.
Also, Portal and Portal 2 offer the brain twisting stuffs

I should have said before: I have a 360 since forever, looking for PS3 exclusives and stuff.
I'll check out Dark Souls sometime soon when the price is right. Valkyrie Chronicles looks pretty but I don't know if it's my thing.

Re: PS3/no games
Gran Turismo 5, Ninja Gaiden Sigma (1-3), Demon Souls, Dark Souls, and the Killzone series if you're into FPS shooters.
Ico and Shadow of the Colossus HD collection is a must buy too. Both games looks and plays way better than the PS2 version.
There are some shmups on the PSN store, like the Soldner X games. (And more?) But they are not really that great...
Also, 3D Dot Game Heroes is a great game!

Motorstorm is still fun and really cheap these days. Don't know about the sequels though
It begins in deep space warped by evil power

Re: PS3/no games
The Yakuza series is probably my favorite Playstation exclusive franchise. They're basically story-driven RPGs with brawler combat. Valkyria Chronicles is a great TPS/turn-based strategy hybrid. And House of the Dead 4 is coming out soon, but it'll probably require the Move controller.
Sega is pretty awesome.

Re: PS3/no games
Dark Souls can be had on the 360 as well, it's Demon souls you want to look out for as it's a PS3 exclusive (and better imo)
Valkyria Chronicles is a must and 3D dot Game heroes is ok it's devloped by the same people as DS but it's no Zelda or SoM.
I can't think of any other exclusives but the important ones have already been mentioned by other people. I suppose if you're into that kind of thing then maybe disgaea? who knows, it's all down to personal taste in the end.

Pixeljunk Sidescroller (PSN) is a fun 2D shmup.
Super Stardust HD (PSN) is another must-have 2D shooter.
More cool games:
Heavy Rain
God of War: there are 5 games available on PS3, GoW 1+2 HD Collection (disc release), GoW 3 (disc release), and 2 HD-ified PSP ports (PSN)

Actually they look (and most definitely play) very similarly to the PS2 version indeed, but are the better of the two since they're cleaner.RaidenViper wrote: Ico and Shadow of the Colossus HD collection is a must buy too. Both games looks and plays way better than the PS2 version.
Wipeout HD/Fury all the way, you should DL it immediately.

Thought of some more:
Ratchet & Clank (Tools Of Destruction, Quest For Booty, A Crack In Time, All 4 One)
Modnation Racers
And then there is Playstation Move. Unlike kinect's caualware/shovelware, there are actually several "must have" games (especially if you like lightgun games):

Re: PS3/no games
Don't really know why you bought a PS3 if you already have a 360 as the number of exclusives is very small, however as you've seen posted a dozen times: Demon's Souls and the Yakuza series. Demon's and Dark Souls (the latter not being exclusive) are probably my favorite game of this generation. I've probably put around 200 hours into each of them.
The Yakuza series is almost like a spin-off of Shenmue put its more cheesy and fun. Very casual with a lot of emphasis on collection. The fighting engine is a lot of fun, but not particularly challenging. My favorite was 2 on the ps2, but might as well jump in with part 3 and 4 which are hugely improved graphics wise.
Honestly, if it wasn't for Yakuza and Demon's Souls, I'd have felt pretty dumb having a ps3 over a 360 this generation.

The Souls games and EDF are my top picks.
3D dot game heroes is great fun too. A zelda clone, but you get these big ass swords n stuff.
Gears of War feels like walking in jelly, except instead of being orange or red, it's grey and brown.

Dead Nation

Maybe I should have put an asterick to indicate games I CARE ABOUT. If you like a lot of the PSN homebrew stuff, maybe, but I honestly think a lot of it isn't that good. Also, listing HD collections or ports of older games is just cheating. How is it cheating? Games like Ico/SotC HD and Dead Space Extraction HD are much improved over the originals, which by the way aren't available on 360, either. There are no homebrew games in that (incomplete) list.CMoon wrote:Maybe I should have put an asterick to indicate games I CARE ABOUT. In your above post you said you only cared about ~3 PS3 games (Demon's Souls and the Yakuza series). I just showed you that there are ~220+ exclusives, some of which are very highly regarded by many. So your first post really only leaves 3 possible interpretations: A) You simply don't know most PS3 exclusives, B) You have an extremely discriminating taste, or C) You were trolling.CMoon wrote:Maybe I should have put an asterick to indicate games I CARE ABOUT

Friendly, when questioned you've stated multiple times that you're not a pro-Sony fanboy. How is anyone supposed to believe everything you type isn't utterly biased?
As I previously mentioned, Ico/SotC are far from greatly improved over the originals. In fact, if you have the originals, there's no real need to buy the HD updates: they could have done a lot more to refine them.Ico/SotC HD and Dead Space Extraction HD are much improved over the originals
