I got them from the guy who runs this site:Ed Oscuro wrote:Are those plastic protectors archival-grade? Meaning they won't emit gases to discolor the boxes. Blocking UV light would be a plus too. (Serious question.)
Not that hard to fix, just needs an undecrypted CPU and a rom swap.Ed Oscuro wrote:I haven't seen anything past a few screenshots, but it seems like a much less troublesome way to play the game than dealing with the PCB version's suiciding sound CPU.

there is slight UV protection in PET plastics, its also enviromentally friendlyStealthlurker wrote:I got them from the guy who runs this site:Ed Oscuro wrote:Are those plastic protectors archival-grade? States that they are:
-PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate)
-Acid Free and Ligind Free
-Safe for long term storage
-New, flat & unfolded
-Clear & Lightweight storage boxes
Don't know about UV protection, but I keep them in a shelving unit with doors that do not allow light in.
.
That's good to know about PET plastic. Thanks for the heads up.sven666 wrote: there is slight UV protection in PET plastics, its also enviromentally friendly
(i make my box protectors out of PET aswell).
they look very nice but i have to say from your pics the fit looks slightly off? looks like there is some room for the box to rattle around inside?
Alright so not quite as many goodies as I'd hoped -- I thought maybe I'd find my Logitech USB PS2 headset and some more PS1 games, but I was very surprised at the DC games I found.shmuppyLove wrote:Holy shit ...
Not stuff I bought, per se, but a whole container that I had left at my parents' house like 10 years ago I found tonight.
I'm not sure exactly all what's in it, but I know there is a PS1 with some games, some Saturn games, and really not sure what else? Possibly Dreamcast and some other stuff ...
OMG I thought this stuff was long gone, I will sort through everything tomorrow and post some pics.

Eeheh just fired up SRC in SSF (Saturn emulator), still awesome!!shmuppyLove wrote:Can't remember what happened to my Saturn, but it's long gone. It would be seriously rad if Sega could release a dual Saturn / Dreamcast console. Sony and Nintendo managed to build backwards-compatibility into their consoles, home come Sega never did?
- Saturn:
Virtua Fighter 2/Virtua Cop/Daytona USA freebie pack
Wipeout
Nights into Dreams
Black Fire
Sega Rally Championship
The Lost World: Jurassic Park
Road Rash
Man, I want some of those drugs. PET environmentally friendly, what the hell?sven666 wrote:there is slight UV protection in PET plastics, its also enviromentally friendly
did you even read the article youre referring to? it clearly states the excellent recycleability (did i just make that word up?) of PET plastics.Ed Oscuro wrote:Man, I want some of those drugs. (example, not proven, but there is also the matter of the residents of a part of Corpus Christi, where a lot of PET bottles are made, coming down with strange ailments of the heart and lungs.)
Cool :Olouisg wrote:I just got a Coregrafx-II and a multitap. There's also an Avenue 3 controller on its way. And then I realized that the only multiplayer Hu-Card I have is Aero Blasters :)
That is very cool ... I love the smaller consoles for some reason. That's why I HAD to buy a PS2 slim after seeing itlouisg wrote:I just got a Coregrafx-II and a multitap. There's also an Avenue 3 controller on its way. And then I realized that the only multiplayer Hu-Card I have is Aero Blasters

Already done, though I'm not sure if it's available in the US yet. But wouldn't it make more sense to just have a backwards-compatible Wii for both Wii and GC games, rather than have separate console for each, if space is an issue?shmuppyLove wrote:I wonder if Nintendo will at some point release a slightly smaller version of the Wii without Gamecube support. I think if they removed the 4 controller ports and memory card slots, they could make it even smaller.
The Family Edition is the same size though? And sounds like they didn't actually release it? The last paragraph in that section is a bit confusing in that respect. Though it would make sense from a cost-savings perspective to continue using the same overall design with just some small revisions, rather than a complete redesign. Though a redesign can also help to move more units. How many people have bought two PS2s, 360s or PS3s?Ghegs wrote:Already done, though I'm not sure if it's available in the US yet. I have both, but the GC is a dedicated Game Boy Player-machine, while I play my few GC games on the Wii.
