GBA games look great on an UVc setup...

Am currently using an USA region NTSC unmodded Gamecube console with a modded Japanese Gamecube D-Terminal cable to output in VGA 480p high-res mode for them GCN progressive-scan supported games like F-Zero GX. With an optional GCN Gameboy Player accessory, if using either an GCN Component Video cable or JPN GCN D-Terminal cable, it'll output in 480p (with no input from a GCN game controller to make it boot up properly).

By hooking up the VGA output to an Ultracade UVc setup, it'll be running in true 240p with the proper 240 x 160 resolution (with a bit of proper arcade monitor resizing, of course). Playing some sample GBA games like Kotetsu Teikoku (aka GBA Steel Empire in the UK), Metal Slug Advance, etc., they all play/look great on an low-res 15kHz arcade monitor setup.

So by running an GBA flash cart setup, some of those cool homebrew GBA games like Holy Hell & the like would equally be at home on a low-res arcade monitor setup.

The Star Fish/Hot-B GBA version of Kotetsu Teikoku feels more like an arcade shmup title running at 60fps compared to the MD/Genny version of Steel Empire with it's 30fps presentation indeed.

There's no way to get rid of the Gameboy Player screen border though (which is a minor issue).

mc cthulu or pad hack a dualshock1 pad with appropriate adapters will do the job...better yet, a ps360+ (with a playstation cord wired) and appropriate adapters. Just completed the wiring on the panels of my vs city, going to give it a spin tonight to see how it works...the cab is wired for cps1/2, JAMMA and console pad hacked. Its a tedious job which you only need to do once.

Wow, that looks amazing! Super jealous of that sweet cab.

Yes, that's one of those Christmas decked Rubik's knockoffs -- really easy to take apart but quite a challenge to assemble.
