What "new show?"

And yes, the Rebuild movies are a distilled retelling of the series with some new elements and a new character (basically Asuka with glasses, minus the traumatic emotional baggage or any other meaningful development so far). They're not bad, just kinda boring, and there wasn't any purpose for them being made besides milking the Eva cash cow. Fans should watch them, everyone else can skip 'em.

You know there's two more Rebuilds to go before the end of the series, right PCFX? And the third one is a long way off even in Japan?

There was suppose to be a four part Re-Build film versions but it was axed down to just three (to shorten the time length before each subquential release, of course).

Ah, I hadn't gotten word of that. That's too bad, although Anno wasn't going to direct the fourth one.

They're going to have to drastically cut down the rest of the series to squeeze it into one more movie, especially if they want to include EoE (which really doesn't need any kind of "reimagining" at all).

I'm amazed that the main series Eva manga is still ongoing, last I checked! There was even a new reveal about Gendo in it a few months ago.

There will still be a fourth movie, they just changed their initial plans for the series (I guess):
Evangelion: Final is the working title for the fourth and final film in the Rebuild of Evangelion movie series. It was believed to be released in Japan alongside the third film, Evangelion 3.0, at an unspecified date. On January 1st 2012, the official Evangelion website revealed Evangelion: Final will be released sometime in 2013[1].

Ah, I thought it was a series of episodes, not of films. Awesome, glad I got it.

Killer game... pretty much singlehandedly got me into the SFC. I used to buy into the myth that the system didn't do MD-style BADASS ACTION GAMES, hoo boy. Wild Guns stomps that one's teeth in.

Interestingly, Wild Guns is the game I virtually always bring up whenever somebody claims the SNES wasn't capable of this or that. It sure packs quite a punch.

Maybe Wild Guns was technically great, but I never thought it was much fun.

That's cool, in objective fact it's the most fun I can have on a 16-bit system.

I'm just glad I didn't paid a crazy price for it. $40 for a loose cart is really fair nowdays.

Cross posting this from NeoGAF. I found this while browsing a local store for about $70 so I went for it. Also I bought a Sega Astro City, but that will have to wait until next week.

Deus-Ex Human Revolution. Excellent game.

Got a Wii recently and been playing S&P (bought it day 1).
One of the best games I've ever played.

Best Friday ever!

Seriously it was like fucking Christmas this morning when I came into the office.

PS2 Slim (75001 model), with two Sony dual-shock controllers, power adapter and standard (composite) A/V cable, with 5 (shitty?) games, was $45 shipped from eBay. I've already disassembled and cleaned the shit out of it, it works perfectly. It's my new beautiful beautiful baby.

Image

Logitech C200 Webcam - $3.50 shipped with a coupon from Newegg (for cybering with Maxlords) :D

Still waiting for from eBay: a sealed Omega Boost for PS1 (so I can softmod the PS2), and a boxed Total Control 2 adapter for Dreamcast. Hopefully next week!

Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal is by far the best in the series IMO. Awesome game.

Yeah joking aside, the only one I'm not at least interested to give a whirl is Simpsons: Road Rage. It was a fun game, but I've played through the entire thing already.

Does the online multiplayer work for any of these games still? Or did Sony shut that stuff down a long time ago?

I see you got your upgrade from ol' fatty, heh. Not sure about any of those games, but I know I have at least one PS2 game where the online servers are still active last time I checked (like a few weeks ago) so it wouldn't surprise me if the servers for Ratchet and Clank were still up (albeit I imagine there's not many players).

Wait, what? There's an exploit in Omega Boost you can use to softmod the PS2? I've had it for a while as it's a pretty fun game, but does this mean I didn't need to get my PS2 chipped? :O

Yeah it's not just Omega Boost, it's any PS1 game. It's a pretty old exploit, I used it on my old PS2 as well -- it forces the PS2 to load custom code off of a memory card, usually a frontend like uLaunchELF. Then you can run whatever software you want, like HD Loader (though obviously not on a slim).

Omega Boost looks awesome and cool and it was a really good deal for a sealed copy so I figured why not?

You've never played it? You were missing out man; it was like, the Star Fox 64 of the PS1, except it didn't really get noticed. Awesome on-rails space shooter, although the boost controls take a bit of getting used to, and if you get a poor performance in early stages your power level/lock on max won't increase as much, making the final fights quite a bit trickier.

Yeah I don't recall ever playing it ... though I had a friend who was a lot more hardcore than I was at the time who might have had it, but I'm not 100% sure.

I've seen some videos of high-level play, it looks super crazy, I can't wait to try it!

Omega Boost is one of my favourite 3D action games ever. Very addictive if you like short, stylish and replayable score attacks and are willing to get to grips with its engine. I posted some basic tips here and here if it's any help - suffice to say it's more a "sphere shooter" than rail ala Panzer or Starfox, although there are a couple of on-rails as well as ground arena stages. In most stages you occupy an (invisible) roving sphere which enemies will enter, attack and then leave, with the player having to outmaneuver, target and obliterate them in rapid succession. Super arcadey-feeling, with midbosses galore.

White-hot graphics and sound don't hurt either. The awesome mech was designed by Shoji Kawamori of Macross, and much like Wild Guns, this game brings The Destruction.

They're prints, but they only cost $15 each signed, so I can't complain too much. I did get to meet him in person too, quite friendly.

And the semi-computer version of the Intellivision, the Aquarius:

This is nowhere near as good as the Intellivision. It's a good showpiece in my bedroom. It has the boxes in semi-poor condition and the Data recorder is missing the proprietary cable in order to use it with the Aquarius. It looks like everything works.

$50 for all. Was bored on craigslist.
