I picked one up a while back at a great price, had been wanting one for ages. It didn't come with a battery pack and the AC input is a bit finicky so I'm looking for alternative power supplies.
I saw a couple of places where people were offering to build rechargeable battery packs in the original battery cases, said he used a 2200mah Lithium Ion battery and set it up with a charging jack built into the top of the battery case. These threads were all somewhat old and on forums I have no affiliation with, I figured I'd ask around here since I know we have some pretty handy guys around.
I'm not ready to buy one immediately as I'm recovering from the cost of a new RC Helicopter, but in the not to distant future I'd definitely be interested if anyone around here has any interest in throwing one together.

I just googled it. This looks like what you're talking about. It seems prettty simple. I'm sure you could figure it out for yourself based on the explanation.
