Only a few months ago I found out I have phimosis. I went to the urologist just to be sure, and he confirmed that I have a severe case of it. He said that circumcision was required and that it was a simple procedure.

This week I'm doing some blood tests and then we'll arrange a date to get it done.

Anyone here went through the procedure as an adult?

Is this problem a recent thing? If so, isn't it due to an infection?

Only 5 months ago after a snorkling trip on holiday, I experienced problems resembling (or being?) phimosis. I couldn't retract enough to even see the full gland, and it hurted as hell. I feared for a possibly needed circumcision.
But I wen't to my doctor and got a prescription for some ointment an this eventually helped out and solved the problem.
I should be able to find the prescription if you wanna know more.

He checked me out, and guess what, I don't have phimosis! What I actually have is excess prepuce.

He explained that phimosis is the complete impossibility of pulling the foreskin. He showed that it's very possible to pull mine, even though I feel a lot of pain in the process.

He then showed pictures of how circumcision is done, the consequences afterwards, and he said that, for my case, the problem could be solved using ointment.

Basically, I pull the foreskin as much as I can, apply the ointment, then move the skin up and down to slowly pull it down. He warned that I'll feel quite a bit of pain, it might bleed a little, but I can expose the entire glans this way. In case it doesn't work after a few weeks, I can go back there and try something else. Let's see how it goes.

I've read so many horror stories of other guys getting circumcisions without at least knowing alternatives existed that I had an inkling your previous doctor was giving you bad fucking advice. I'm glad it worked out for you in your case and you found a doctor who suggested some non-surgical treatment options to try first. Hope the stretching works for you; just keep at the exercises the doctor gives you or whatnot, read up on what other guys online who've had to do it recommend and such.

So yesterday night I finally decided to try and pull the foreskin down. Before doing it, however, I checked the components of the ointment: the main component is hyaluronidase. One site I checked mentioned its side effects: irritation, inflammation and formation of clumps The other component is an anti-inflammatory, but still...

Went for it without using the ointment. Got halfway down yesterday, then this morning I was able to pull it down completely. It did hurt a bit but it didn't bleed or anything. It actually felt good, lol.

But now the foreskin is stuck behind the glans and won't go back anymore, not sure if it's supposed to be like that. Plus the glans is sensitive as fuck now and I can barely wear anything without feeling discomfort, but I'm sure this is temporary.

Anyway, it was done successfully and no surgery was necessary. Thanks a lot guys. Shmups forum literally saved my dick.

Worse comes to worse, try applying a bit of lube or take a hot bath in order to loosen the skin and pull it back over the glans. Not sure how Brazil works but I know my doc up here's kind enough that if you leave him a quick phone message he'll get back to you with a reply or simply tell you to make an appointment for the next day or such. While it's uncommon and unlikely to happen unless it's really tight and you leave it for several hours, make sure you keep an eye on it and that it doesn't develop into Paraphimosis (where a tight foreskin gets trapped behind the glans to the point where it's tight enough to restrict blood flow).

Don't mean to scare you, but if it starts cutting off the flow of blood and this lasts for a few hours, this is considered to be a medical emergency if it's left to that point because it could result in gangrene, and that would fucking suck. The first treatment in most cases appears to be trying to reduce the swelling with ice, or injecting hyaluronidase into the foreskin to reduce the swelling and then trying to pull the foreskin over so perhaps a small bit of that cream might help getting it back over the glans. You'll probably be fine and like Skykid said, it just needs a bit of playing with/stretching, but in the unlikely event you're unable to get it back over the glans, don't be embarrassed if you have to go to your doctor or a hospital; just don't leave it until it starts to get really swollen. You don't want to see images of what happens when it's been left like that for days.

The glans of any foreskin intact penis is always super sensitive when exposed, since it's sheathed 95% of the time. For you it's probably crazy sensitive, and no, your foreskin isn't meant to get stuck underneath your glans, it should retract so go have a play.

Looks like I need to keep doing stretching exercises for some time, it feels really tight and uncomfortable when the foreskin gets underneath the glans. After a while it should loosen up a bit.
