PURE BEAUTIFUL!

does anyone have .ai or even just a bitmap template for making custom backgrounds for HRAP 2's, and also EX-2 's ?

that would be great!

Here's a picture of my stick. It was my first modding job and I had some minor mess-ups, but I think it turned out beautifully.

Is that a trick of the perspective or is that a massive ball top?

I think it's just the perspective, but to tell you the truth I wouldn't mind trying out a bigger ball top. The ball on my Genesis 3 button stick is probably 1.25 times the size of a regular ball, but it feels good. The stick itself sucks though, so it's tough to really judge.

or it could be an seimitsu LB-49 balltop. They are 45mm instead of the standard 35mm

It is massive. I forget which type it is, but it's significantly bigger than the one that came with the stick. It feels really weird using my TE for fighting games, now. The balltop no longer feels adequate.

I love that honking gigantic top.

Here is my recent Futari stick mod. It's a simple artwork, button and joystick mod on a 360 Brawl Stick. This stick is Seimitsu modded with a LS-58-01 joystick and PS-14-K buttons. Credit goes to emphatic for the custom move strip. I know the cutout of the panel art is a little off, but I guess that's what happens when you do a cutout after a couple drinks and when you can't find your x-acto knife. Luckily I have another copy of the panel art to redo when I have some free time. Tomorrow I will post my PS2 Tekken 5 stick mod that I recently completed.

^^ came out great!

I really like the move strip placement, I might try next time I do a stick. I'd really love a Ketsui stick with the move strip at the bottom like that.

Here is the mod I did for my PS2 Tekken 5 stick. This was my first attempt at a real mod (requires more than just ripping of old art and slapping on new buttons). I didn't even know how to solder prior to this project. Took a little bit of work but I think it come out pretty good. Loaded with a Seimitsu LS-58-01 and Seimitsu buttons.

Wow cpcbautista, both of those look great! I have a junky old tekken stick I wanted to mod but never got around to it. Did you completely replace the guts to yours?

Thanks. For the tekken stick I kept the PCB but I had to wire all the buttons to it since the stock buttons were soldered directly on. I also added quick disconnects to all buttons and a seimitsu harness to make easier for future changes. With a few supplies and soldering skils it's not that difficult to do. There's an old tutorial from shoryuken that I referred to. I can definitely help you out if you ever get around to it.

Here's my rendition Slagcoin's Simple Poplar (WIP). This took me more than 3 months due to lack of time to making it plus made many mistakes. It has a LS-32 joystick, 5 PS-14DN pushbuttons, 1 PS-14DN-K pushbutton, and 2 PS-14GN push button (Thanks Fudoh!). The PCB is a PS1 Digital H controller that I did not cut:
Image
I didn't really follow the soldering points, but whatever.

It's an okay build, the box was hand sawed which was difficult making straight cuts. I need to replace either the LS-32's mounting plate to a Seimitsu SS mounting plate (dunno if it's compatible) or replace the shaft with a longer one. Reason is due to barely having enough room to grasp the stick under the ball. Otherwise I'm pretty proud having to build this stick.

More pictures can be seen here. Did I mention they're full rez?

haha you're retarded :)

does anyone know if one of those big balltops will fit on a standard LS-32 shaft?

Yeah, it looks like you've managed to mount a Seimitsu lever at Sanwa height, which is incorrect. Seimitsu mounting requires the main lever mechanism to be practically flush with the top surface. The SS plate may help a little but it looks like you may have cut away too much of the surrounding wood to properly correct this =/

The SS plating has somewhat similar dimensions with the RE plating. I might give it a try to see if it works.
If it doesn't work, well shit out of luck. Either I order a longer shaft or a shaft extension to confiscate the missing area. No biggy I could live with this controller for now. ^^;

What about just putting something to fill the desired space between the plate and the wood, like some spare wood or even four nuts and fixate everything with corresponding longer screws?

How thick does plexiglas have to be to not wobble/warp while using it? Let's say the entire top is plexi with the stick and buttons mounted in it, but nothing directly underneath to support it. kinda like the one 'moh' posted.

depends on the dimensions buddy, smaller surface area will seem stiffer, so as long as you stay with a relatively small surface area you should be good with ~3mm plexi which was what I used.

You also wanna keep in mind that you dont want to go any thicker or else you might have trouble getting the buttons to snap in (assuming you're using sanwa), but then again you can always get the screw-in buttons.

best of luck =]

Nothing too special here, as this was put together from parts I had laying around from my various fighting-game related stick projects: a old TvC stick case that I hollowed out, an LS-32 and good old PS-14-KN buttons (though I have an LS-58 on order which I've heard really good things about). But still, it works. :)

I love the artwork, and that's a pro button layout. I have a stock TvC stick I use with a Mayflash adapter on my PC for MAME, I love the stick too much to mod anything on it.

Swap in the LS-58 ASAP. You'll forget all about the LS-32. Awesome artwork on the stick!

Yeah, the LS-58 arrived yesterday, I've got it in there now. It'll take a little getting used to, but I already love the shorter throw distance!
