Tried out Youmu in Ten Desires. She is an interesting character to play as. Yoshika Miyako is a pain to kill mainly because she heals.

Also, R-Type Final, Armed Police Batrider (Honestly, I find the move from Battle Garegga to this game pretty hard, but I'll keep on trying.), and Ketsui (WARNING! A HUGE BATTLESHIP RBB-S1 Vindogradov IS APPROACHING FAST! *Quickly dies to the miniboss.*)

Back to Strikers 1999. Not satisfied with my current replay, so I'm working to see how feasible a full NMNB is. :)

More Cyvern for me. Starting to figure out better scoring strategies for my current level of skill, including suiciding before tank-rich parts of st4 when I don't have a bomb. Too many times I've just tried to man my way through it with limited banish, died, dropped medal chain, run ended. I've tried a couple of the milking tricks on st1 and st2 bosses but its kind of hit and miss. Timing the banish/shot ratio for the missles on st2 boss is harder than it looks, because its difficult to see when the missles have actually blown up. No save states so it certainly is going slower, perhaps I'll boot this up on mame for a bit to refine these parts...

Just returning after a pretty lengthy break from shmups. Played through DDP DFK with Strong and Futari BL Original and was surprisingly still able to 1CC them both first try (I know, I know, they're easy).

Since then, I've been playing lots of ESP Galuda and Dragon Blaze. I think I'll work on finally getting the 1CC of Galuda (Dragon Blaze...not so much).

I'm still waiting for him to clear Ultra. I guess if you want something done you've gotta do it yourself.

Practicing for a 1CC of R-Type III's second loop ("Advanced Mission"). It's proving easier than I thought it'd be (possibly due to overfamiliarity with the first loop :p), although there are still areas in which I tend to make stupid mistakes - the st4 boss in particular. I might capture a run in ZSnes if things go well.

I really appreciate the thought that went into making the stages more challenging. Lots of areas throw curveballs to keep you on your toes, but always in ways that actually improve the stage design.

I dunno about clearing, but I'll get back to playing that sometime now that I fixed my controller issue. S99 and DFK always take priority, though. At any rate, if there's someone who's going to clear it, that'd be you. :P

Back to playing Radiant Silvergun arcade mode (priority on 1ccing stage 4 route) and practicing weapon routes for 1ccing Strania: Side Vower expert mode.

Haven't played either in like 6 months so very rusty. 1ccing Sine Mora will probably take priority if I like it at all. I like trying to learn new games very fast, even though it doesn't mean much later on.

After hammering out my long overdue Futari 1.5 Original clear followed by a BL Maniac clear, I've shifted my focus to DFK. Local friend of mine who plays shmups every now and then told me out of nowhere that he hit the omote loop, so being the jackass I am this is all it took to make me decide I'd finally go for my first 2-ALL. So far I've manged to reach the boss of 2-2. My first loop can still use a lot of improving and I haven't practiced the second at all yet, so coming this far this quickly I feel like this is an attainable goal for me.

How about you try to get an Ura loop on Novice? it should be a nice way to start getting used to the Omotte second loop on normal mode.

Getting to Ura can be difficult though (1 death and 2 bombs used maximum).

After reaching the final boss in 19XX and coming so darn close to the 1CC, I've switched back to my primary reason to getting a supergun. I'm now playing Dimahoo, getting whooped has never been so much fun - Treasure hunting rocks!

I tried out Futari for the first time yesterday. Almost 1cc'd 1.5 Original with a shit score and, surprisingly, did well at the stage 3 final attack.

Thanks to wnka's unfailing kindness I now have a copy of Galuda 2. I'm going to play the fuck out of it.

Been playing some 19xx yesterday and today. Really nice game, seems like there are a few things to learn.

I'm unsure whether killing the boss quickly, or destroying all of his parts is worth more.

Pretty sweet first pcb, the game is beautiful! Dem Scanlines!

Hit just over 2m so far, but no S Rank destructions yet.

2 more boards on the way, so I gotta buckle down and try to kick this game's ass.

Quickly!!! Basically the opposite of Raizing :)

Have you held down the bomb button yet? Took me a while to figure that one out lol

I've been playing Mushime-sama Futari Black Label for a while now. I was recently able to earn a 1cc with an almost 500 mil score. I can easily get on other scoreboards in other forums, but I really want to get on the shmups forum scoreboard. I have a special place in my heart for Mushime-sama Futari ever since hanging out with fellow shmup players and playing it a year or so ago at Arcade Infinity.

Which has the more obnoxious medalling system: 1945K III or G-Stream?

I suppose 1945K III but only if you don't care to squeeze out every red 7 possible for 3000 points...G-Stream's is less involved in a way (only shoot enemies whose medals you can recover, I guess!)

I figured it out...I thought. I didn't realize it would charge up to 3 times - I kept releasing it when it hit the first full meter *facepalm*

More Sengoku Blade. Now I'm very consistent until 2-5, which is still quite hard for me even with the suicide strategy, and 2-6 is slowly becoming doable but still too hard. Got several times to 2-7 though so I'm happy, I was stuck at 2-6 for a long long time.

Also playing a lot of UFO normal, currently at Toramaru. Scoring is very very fun, watching SHIN's replay shows the system is quite complex (one would think at first that just sticking to blue UFOs in general and rainbow to turn power ups into points would be enough, but doing rainbows on the first levels to sacrifice score at first but build up the point value to eventually get more points later is a cool unobvious strategy). Getting the hang of grazing Ichirin's patterns too.

Also starting to seriously play Garegga. I was going to do Batrider at first but I think I'm not good enough for that one yet, scoring is very very hard. So that will be my next project after I finish Blade.

Just SCC'd Deathsmiles IIX arrange mode yesterday, for whatever that's worth.

Eh..can anyone translate the dialogue choice at the end? Can i get the non-"hot springs" ending? 'Cause uh.......eww.

Look for me padding out the middle (and stinking up the bottom) of leaderboards as Hammer Duke

Haha, this is a very timely tip for me also.

But no, I'm playing Super-X instead. :|

Playing more 19xx

Icarus is nuts. I can barely replicate what he is doing in his replay, even when bombing where he does not. That stage 2 boss is so hard to S Rank, I always kill him in 33 seconds, 1 second past the S Rank

Has anyone figured out what it is that triggers the extend in stage 4?

At 3.9 mil so far, died to that insta-death purple laser against Sancho Pedro.
