To me it also feels like some of the waves changed, I'm getting much higher scores in Short Range Mode now and I don't think that's all just skill improvement.

Yes XBLIG's sometimes have sales . It's always up to MS which games get picked.

This price cut to 80 MSP is not part of any sale. MS have updated XBLIG's, Before any game over 50mb had to be 240 MSP or 400 MSP. Now it's any game 150mb or under can sell for 80 MSP.

Also the new maximum file size now is 500mb, It used to be 150mb i think?.

Revolver360 is f**ing crazy on the later waves

Post by adversity1 »

Just came across some awesome videos of Revolver360 for XBLIG.

Waves 100-155 (good quality video)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74DG015QYnw

Wave 1-158 (played by RAM)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88I9AWLiryw

I'm not aware of any shooter with as much speed and sheer manic gameplay. It's a shame that Revolver 360 is on XBLIG and didn't get the attention it deserves. It's a really intense game. Nice to see expert players take it on.

Indeed, criminally overlooked - I think it might even be the best indie game of all on 360. Well, aside from Are You Smarter Than A Cheerleader, which will make you feel ashamed as you play it.

Truly this is a fine game!
Why won't my online leaderboards work though?
I've got a Live Gold account but it just searches, creates session, quits session, searches, creates session etc without ever updating the boards.
Is it cos I'm in the United Kingdom?
Also isn't there a PC version due soon- there was a trial at one of the Comikets.

All XBLIG's that have online scoreboards are P2P. Which means someone else must be online at the same time.

Unfortunately the Japanese devs are for the most part are using these fucking awful manual update where you have to push a button and leave it at the leaderboard screen.

Most devs (EU-NA) have automatic P2P scoreboard which updated at any time. Eg you could be playing the game and if someone else is started the game or playing it just updates the scoreboard in the background. Normally there is a slight pause when playing a game and it updates.

Anyway i have had this game from day 1. I have about 700 or more players on my scoreboards. I am willing to share my scoreboard info with all. Make sure you all have a open NAT and just send me a message and i will help. Must have gold for XBLIG scoreboards to work.

Looks awesome.. adding in a proximity lock-on laser to shoot background enemies will make the rotation mechanic even more interesting. too much blue though, hopefully the textures are placeholders, would imagine so since the first one used quite a bit of color.

Glad to see it's coming out on PC so it won't disappear when Microsoft decides to stop supporting indie games compatibility in future soft/hardware updates

Yeah, because of this I'm worried that Arika's Jewelry Master Twinkle and Ancient's Protect Me Knight are going to be lost to history. There's no way hackers can preserve them on their own, because XBLIG titles require you to be logged into XBL to play.

PMK has a PC demo but it's just that, a demo.

Man, this game is fucking awesome.

I'm already having a blast trying to beat my scores in the scoreboards, which by the way needs more filthy gaijin like us. :P (I'm ranked 9th so far, the dev himself got second place.)

The game has a Twitter option. Japan surely has a severe Twitter addiction. RefRain also offers this feature.

The trial ends at Wave 21, more than enough to get a taste of the flow of the game. This could be the epitome of a Caravan-like shooter mixed with survival, right? (The option to randomise each wave keeps things fresh indeed.)

With this an Astebreed (and the Akashicverse shooter and the upcoming project by Siter Skain) there is hope in the doujin side!

New demo for Revolver360 RE:ACTOR here: http://crosseaglet.xii.jp/game/R360R/download.html

You can play a single stage (stage 2?) and 10 of the challenge minigames.

Enjoyed it a lot, can't wait to try the full version.

My only real gripes so far are the overly blue & glowy visuals (though they do work surprisingly well) and that sometimes it's hard to tell when an enemy is firing at you from the background.

The challenge levels work great as a tutorial to the games system and scoring.

Yes, it is the full game.

And Playism is localizing both Revolver games.

Got my copy of RE:ACTOR today, really enjoying it.

1cc'd it pretty quickly. Survival isn't tough since playing for score gives you a lot of resources, scoring is where it's at. I should have a video uploaded tomorrow.
Going to try and tackle the challenges but chances are I won't be able to understand some of the objectives..

Setting "camera effect" to 0 in options seems to remove bloom which is nice.

reactor got updated to 1.07, challenges 31-40 are available and you can change graphics settings ingame with F3-F6 keys now.

The challenges are starting to get crazy, there's even one where you are forced to rotate at max speed throughout a level which gets trippy

Revolver360 RE:ACTOR has been released on DLsite and japanese Playism now. I wonder when we'll see the english playism release.

The game also got updated to version 1.10 with some significant changes:

- you can resume play from the middle of a replay (score is invalidated)
- enemy placements slightly altered
- enemy hp slightly altered
- added some powerup locations
- powerup boxes have less hp?

the dev says the changes add about 2-4% more to score potential.

Noticed someone is really close to breaking 100billion score now, need to check out that replay.

Really hoping that english release didn't get cancelled, this game deserves more attention
