Graphical Corruption in Mushi Futari Platinum?

Post by Blackbird »

Hey everyone. I was playing Mushi Futari on the 360 the other day, the Platinum Collection version, and I noticed some occasional graphical corruption. The claws on the Kraken/Stage 2 boss turned into solid pink blocks at one point, and at another, the claws on the Stage 1 Boss/Dino turned into garbled blocks (but still with the correct color palette).

Might have noticed some weird sprite problems at another point, but I can't remember exactly where.

Anyone else experienced problems with this game? Wondering if it's an inherent problem of the game itself, my disk, or the 360 I was playing on. Guess I could try testing it on another 360.

Pretty sure that's caused by your 360 overheating.

I read somewhere that the BL DLC is to blame for some of those issues. I've seen the pink block flicker on stage 3 while fighting beetles in BL (training mode), but nothing really serious. I did get one bizarre fight against the T-Rex where his entire body got corrupted for the fight and flickered wildly in an absurdly blocky manner. Can't remember what mode I was playing, but it only happened once, so whatever caused it must be rare.

Same here, got a whole green screen for 1 sec on T-Rex boss... only happened once in 200+ plays.

Probably caused by global warming.

I don't think it's BL related; I don't have the DLC.

Overheating isn't out of the question; it wasn't my 360 and I don't know how often the unit was used, but it's certainly possible for overheating to cause graphical corruption.

Futari has all sorts of random, incredibly hard to reproduce glitches like that. I doubt it's an issue with the Platinum release specifically - I recall people reporting oddball stuff happening with the original release as well.

I've had problems like that with my non-platinum release. I deinstalled it and then reinstalled it (along with BL), and I haven't noticed it happening since.

It was always pink boxes almost always confined to stage 2.

I've had a similar thing happen in non-platinum Futari where there were random blocks appearing on top of enemies. I just quit and reloaded because it was obvious as soon as you started playing. Hasn't happened more than once.

I am getting the BL-caused freeze glitch now though. It never happened on my old PAL console but it's happening all the time on my NTSC-J slim :x

Heh. I had an issue where Deathsmiles first press would always crash and the Platinum Hits copy I also had worked fine. I forget what I did. Probably reset the cache and reinstalled the game. But the first press version works fine now.

Only graphical corruption I've ever seen in a cave port is in deathsmiles mbl ice palace. Sometimes when theirs a TON of sprites on screen it glitches and shows what looks like a sprite sheet over the whole screen. Only lasts for a half second or so.

Sit with your nose touching the screen, then maybe if you stare through it Recco will emerge from your TV and enter your nostrils to take you away to a mystical land where no grown-ups are and pure primal instincts rule the hour.
