What if I try to play for score, end up having to focus on survival, happen to be a touhou fan and not rarely credit feed out of frustration?

I play only arcade games, and without friggin' save states, training modes and any other shit that gives an unfair advantage against other players LOL.

COME ON... at least some of you "Survivalists" and "1CCers" are closer to Credit feeders/lol players and you know it! How can you expect to get better unless you constantly think your play is shitty?
Put me down for lol player. I've gotten five or so 1-ALLs but that's over hundreds of hours of play. Most of the time I drift from game to game and don't get anywhere.
And just because you try to score sometimes does not make you halfway between a 1CCer and a Score Player. It means you acknowledge the game mechanics.

I don't have DFK BL but PS is my favourite game ever, Dimahoo is currently overtaking all my other favourites probably to reach number 2, and Battle Bakraid is the only game I am above average at scoring in.

I'm a credit feeder transitioning to be a survivalist.

I have loved the genre since back in the 16 bit days and I had some true skills but not any more. I usually make it to stage 4 of the Cave games on one credit and then it all goes to shit. Apart from DFK where I'm struggling on stage 3.

I adore the games but I just don't have the skill for bullet hell.

Last time I checked, you're free to use as anyone else to use save states and training mode. It doesn't put you at any disadvantage because you choose not to.

I'm trying to transition from 1cc/Survival to Score as soon as I find a game or three that I'm really in love with for scoring. I'm working my list down pretty quickly, and then I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do when I quit fucking around and quit switching between games every 3-4 days.

I'd say somewhere between Survivalist and Creditfeeder, actually. I'd *always* rather play with a set amount of credits and I like to shoot for the 1CC; but 99% of the time, I'm not especially fixated on a particular goal other than just having fun.

That's your problem. The ports and MAME were there for you to use just like everyone else. You simply chose not to. You knew what you were getting when you decided to buy the PCB's so deal with it instead of accusing everyone of having some kind of advantage.
