I appreciate Hitler was intelligent, so I've met the argument halfway. Clear of mind on the other hand... well, let's hear the facts.
I don't know why Hitler being a genocidal fascist looney is suddenly such a hard pill to swallow, it's not like there's no supporting evidence.

Oh gross I threw up a little bit in my mouth. We are lucky enough to have one of the single-cup Keurig machines here, they are fucking fantastic.

However, props for being the only other person so far to post a picture of their desk drawer.

Apple Jack, Pinkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle from the giftset. The ones that have the show accurate PVC hair. None of this brushable junk.

If you could just stop mentioning that you're a grown man with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic figurines on your work desk, I might be able to pretend the world isn't completely fucked in the head for a short while.

His pony antics are hardly unique among geeky twentysomethings these days, you know.

Most of these people didn't give a shit about MLP before the new show. It's a shrill, preachy cartoon for little girls with extremely mediocre Flash animation, but each to their own, eh? I happen to be a fan of some shojo anime myself.

See this is a the problem I have with people. I watch a show that I find enjoyable, that I like the animation style of (i'll challenge the claim of mediocre, especially in the second season) and has a generally positive fanbase, but because it's based off a series of toys aimed at little girls, I'm somehow morally contemptible.

Watching an anime series like Strike Witches however; a series that likes to show nude 12 years girls in full detail; that's fine with everyone. That's fucked up.

And frankly i'm a bit tired of you trolling this thread. And it is only you that is trolling.

You're not morally contemptible (who insinuated that?). I just think there's something wrong with the MLP vs. adult male picture.

Or you could stop being a child and let the thread get back on topic. The only "pony stuff" that has apparently provoked you was a few of us posting what was genuinely on our work desks (the point of the thread) and me answering one question (again on topic).

No pic, because my work drawer content is a mix of

1) Embarrassingly boring compared to what's been posted so far, and
2) Distinctive enough for co-workers to identify me.

Post-it pad, staples, AA batteries, box of generic Kleenex, maybe a couple granola bars, several units of the product I'm working to improve (the distinctive part), an old loaner laptop that I haven't surrendered back to the site IT lead yet ("you never asked, and by the way why the fuck do my network drive mappings still not work?"), that sort of thing. I don't think the guys at the office would necessarily be bothered by MLP paraphernalia or the like. I could picture them teasing, but it would be good-natured. We're pretty laid back here; nobody bats an eye at a middle manager walking down the hall in gym clothes, an engineer coming in to work in hipster jeans and a leather jacket, a product manager bringing in his dog, etc.. They're probably more concerned about me being too uptight than about those guys. But we're also a Fortune 500 subsidiary so I honestly am slightly paranoid about stuff leaking back up to the corporate overmind (even though I don't think we've had anyone at a higher layer than our OPCO on-site in at least a year, and those guys probably don't even know I exist outside of the fact that I'm in a dozen poorly-synchronized databases). If I felt totally unrestrained my Gally wallscroll would probably be in my cube. Scandalous; an anime-style depiction including vaguely boob-shaped metallic projections.

I'd feel pretty confident in saying that Skykid is either one of two things:

1) A hermit with no knowledge of the outside world and pieces together his own twisted reality of the world based on snippets of information he finds on the internet.

or 2)

He's really a social busybody who goes around the neighborhood dressed in a mask and skintight lycra, assailing anyone who is doing or thinking anything morally ambigous (according to his standards of course) and preaching to them to live a life of good honest old fashioned conformity.
Image

On a side note; Ponies really don't push my buttons but I agree some of the designs are appealing and perhaps it's the bright pastel colours that put me off. While not to my tastes I would have no shame in displaying said ponies should I recieve some as a gift.

Furthermore I would like to say that although I have never seen MLP I do enjoy watching other "Childrens" programs and would be interested in knowing if anyone else has what may be considered a guilty pleasure; Here's some of mine:

- Sesame Street & The Muppets
- Spongebob
- Lazytown
- Fraggle Rock (there's a trend here: Feel the Jim Henson love<3 )

Check out Yo Gabba Gabba. It's not exactly my cup of tea, but which other kids' show can boast about having Jack Black and Elijah Wood as guest stars, in addition to what is a living, walking sex toy?

Hey, I've got a question for everyone. How many of you guys actually still have desks with drawers attached? That's how it used to be at my last job, but since moving to my current employer I've had a fullsize cabinet instead of a desk drawer. This is primarily due to the fact that my desk is motorized and can be raised and lower.

My desk drawer (can't take a pic at the moment) has a composition book, some pens, a ruler, adhesive bandages, a couple rolls of clear tape, pink staples, paper clips, a red folder with emergency lesson plans for subs, a copy of Fiction Writer's Workshop by Josip Novakovich, a couple paystubs, clinic passes, a deck of cards, and a copy of my latest evaluation form that proclaims to me to be an "effective teacher" (I was only two points away from "highly effective"... boohiss).

On my desk are a tennis ball, a phone with a balloon from Valentine's Day tied to it, some textbooks, more fucking paper than I care to think about right now, a normal Slinky, a small pink Slinky, three legal pads, a pink three-hole puncher, a pink pen holder, and a pink stapler (to go with my pink staples).

In my cabinet are movies that aren't school appropriate (for planning days), some coffee for the Keurig coffee maker a student gave me (I know, lolwut?), one of these badass toys: http://www.amazon.com/Nerf-94665-N-Stri ... B003774W6Q, Scrabble, some textbooks, a framed picture of my ex-girlfriend that was on my desk (she just dumped me on Friday  ), and some old binders with lesson plans and shit.

NOW YOU KNOW.
<trap15> I only pick high quality games
<trap15> I'm just pulling shit out of my ass tbh
