Nope, plain old DC version. However, I will definitely give Noa a few more chances to impress (especially the aforementioned classic mode), but its flow just doesn't seem quite as natural and intuitive as Radirgy's to me.stryc9 wrote:Herr Schatten, are you playing Radirgy Precious (PS2) by any chance?

Re: Is MileStone OK?
Well MSSC 2 should be here tomorrow, the main draw for me being that obscure little gem Illvelo, the only one of Milestone's shooters i haven't played. It will be interesting to see if it's livelier than Karous, but I'm looking forward to getting back into Radilgy now I'm tated as well. I've only ever had the PS2 game, which I'm afraid runs like molasses, but I played it for years until seeing the version on MSSC 1 and realizing what a slow turd of a conversion Precious really was.

Yeah, I agree that saying you can stay in the ABS longer in Radirgy sounds odd. I'm not going to pretend to be a great player but I remember it being a lot being to build it up in Noa as well.
Re: Is MileStone OK?
I always buy their soundtracks, but they haven't really done much to keep me interested, and I'd sooner buy a Naomi than a Wii.
I really enjoyed Chaos Field, then they came out with Radirgy; an almost totally different game. Karous was a letdown for me. It had the best OST to date, but it just sort of felt like the same game. I love Milestone because of their knack for getting creative with the genre. Now I'm left wondering where that all went.
Have their Wii titles even sold as well as their DC ones?

More than 30 months now since your last arcade release. Please don't die on us, MileStone.

Of course, that's just an opinion.

Unless they are a one-man show like Triangle Service, there are running expenses like wages... Can a small company like this really survive without releasing a new game in over 2 1/2 years? Somehow I doubt that their previous games/ports made that much profit.MathU wrote:More than 30 months now since your last arcade release. Please don't die on us, MileStone.

Finally, some activity! They just posted something about K.H.D.N today. If anyone could translate this it would be much appreciated.

Yeah, that's an ominous looking announcement. Something about a "sound unit" and "fans."

It says its game over, man.MathU wrote:Finally, some activity! They just posted something about K.H.D.N today. If anyone could translate this it would be much appreciated.
Game over.
It sounds like it got kind of ugly there at the end.

You can't just leave us hanging like this, dude. At least a tiny summary...
Re: Is MileStone OK?
Now, wait a minute. Their online store's still up and running.
I think this is just saying that their in-house music production unit is disbanding--not the company.
I'm no fan of Milestone's, but I don't want to see another shmup house bite the dust.

Cave won't quite be the last man standing if Milestone goes. Triangle Service has a new game coming. There's G.Rev, of course. Gulti still exists. MOSS (remnants of Seibu Kaihatsu) are still around, last I heard. They made the mediocre KOF Sky Stage and Neo Geo Ultimate Shooting for SNKP. And there was that officially sanctioned Raiden concert. There's also Qute, who made the superb Eschatos and may very well give it a proper follow-up. 5pb might do another Bullet Soul or something, I guess.
Irem is at death's door, but they haven't made a shmup in years and years. They seem to be losing the R-Type license, anyway.
Is Alfa System still solvent?

Yea, KHDN is done. I dunno what that means for Milestone.Estebang wrote:Now, wait a minute. Their online store's still up and running.

Re: Is MileStone OK?
It just means their next shmup soundtrack--if there is one--will be outsourced.
Re: Is MileStone OK?
That's horrible. Kou Hayashi's and Daisuke Nagata's music was a huge part of MileStone's games. They're two of my very favorite composers in the game industry.

They're not dead or anything, though. You'll hopefully hear their music in some other future project.
The only Milestone OST I cared for was Chaos Field.

Which has at least 4 CDs.Estebang wrote:The only Milestone OST I cared for was Chaos Field.
Well, k.h.d.n. were through Super Sweep, so I guess MileStone will stick with them... might get Shinji Hosoe on their next title.Estebang wrote:It just means their next shmup soundtrack--if there is one--will be outsourced.
Agreed.MathU wrote:Kou Hayashi's and Daisuke Nagata's music was a huge part of MileStone's games.
Also, why the hell don't MileStone have a t-shirt featuring a print design of Tadayo?
nZero pointed out to me a couple of days ago that we may have lost Warashi (Shienryu, Shienryu Explosion, Triggerheart Exelica). Their website has disappeared.Estebang wrote:Cave won't quite be the last man standing if Milestone goes. Triangle Service has a new game coming. There's G.Rev, of course. Gulti still exists. Alfa system always ever made other games besides shiki anyway (vn's i think). The next shikigami no shiro is long overdue anyway.....Estebang wrote:Cave won't quite be the last man standing if Milestone goes. Triangle Service has a new game coming. There's G.Rev, of course. Re: Is MileStone OK?
This may go some way to explaining the lack of an announcement of their next shooter. Or maybe their making more fighting games
I still haven't played Illvelo, as I have MSC2 but my mate's Wii is semi-bricked at the mo but I'll get to playing it eventually.

Just last night I was listening to Radirgy and Chaos Field on my earphones at the gym.

Milestone only published Project Cerberus. It was developed by Hobibox.stryc9 wrote:This may go some way to explaining the lack of an announcement of their next shooter. Or maybe their making more fighting games![]()
Not surprised that Warashi's finally gone. Ports and mahjong aside, they hadn't made a new game since 2005 (a Simple series DS Arkanoid clone). Exelica could only sustain them so long.
Re: Is MileStone OK?
So can anyone give a complete translation? It sucks that MileStone always uses images for their text because you can't just do a simple machine translation.
