The lanterns in stage 5 spawn bullets when they're destroyed, but they also cancel all bullets on screen if you sit on top of them as they're destroyed.finisherr wrote:I got to level 5 on God Mode today! I've noticed that there are random circular explosions that I can sometimes cancel by shooting them very quickly. However, sometimes they still turn into bullets even though I shoot them. Any ideas?

This. Everybody starts from the same level and will surely remember how hard everything used to be in the start. So congrats on that!Sapz wrote:Hey hey, none of that.Annoyboy wrote:I just 1CCd 1.5 Original with Abnormal Palm after months of torment! 1.5 original is a relatively hard clear in my opinion, mostly due to the "catch you out" nature of the second half of the 3rd level and larsa fight.
It's not like...super hard but I do think it's deceptively hard, especially when rank starts to climb.

So, I played God Mode on my new tated 20" CRT TV. I must say that it's easier to play when you can see all of those small gaps. Almost made it to Larsa!

I know that this topic hasn't seen much activity as of late, but I have a little something to share, I stumbled upon Xbox.com's listing for this game lately, and I found this, and the description in English too...
The Games on Demand version supports English. On a time axis different from the present. A vertically-scrolling bullet hell shooter unfolds against the backdrop of the travel story of Reko, a girl who has become a goddess, and the dragon-riding boy Palm. There are 3 game modes and 2 types of machines available. It is possible to choose a combination that suits you. Moreover, the Arrange Version also strives to “achieve new gaming characteristics" and also "give new players an enjoyable gaming experience". “This journey will connect the memories of the two adventurers."
I lol at the fact that that there's no On Demand version of the game, especially in English, even though the game is in JP and is region free (in retail disc).
And yes, this can be seen on both the US and PAL marketplaces for it too. (Although this makes me wonder if there would be a port in English, which may be very unlikely anyway.)

That description is for the benefit of people in Asia (outside Japan) who presumably don't speak/read Japanese, since the GoD version is available on the Asian Marketplace. It seems to be the standard blurb for JPN GoD games that have English menus/options in them.

Yeah, but I haven't heard a single answer from a previous thread if the game is playable if you used a VPN. But I assume it won't, even though its region-free. Unless otherwise noted.

You mean if it's playable on non-JPN/Asian consoles? I haven't seen anyone mention it either.

I just watched this because I still occasionally get caught out on the ST2-boss purple ball attack Planky talks about. If I wasn't enjoying the game so much I'd curl up in a ball and give up after watching a replay like that. Thanks man, I think.Sapz wrote:Here is a run I did a few months ago which demonstrates strategies for pretty much every spot you mentioned (though I bombed the 4th boss pattern, since it's very hard at high rank). I will stress again that they work consistently, as in luck does not influence the outcome whatsoever. There are really very few spots you could argue are luck based at all since all the patterns are designed in a consistent, logical manner - it's just legitimately difficult.
Even without these strategies though, making things up on the fly is quite possible, especially for stage sections where (in Original) pretty much every bullet on the screen is aimed directly at your hitbox, making it a matter of repeated streaming and cutbacks. This is especially important for the speedy bullets from the stage 5 popcorns; you'll need to cutback well if you don't want to get trapped at the side of the screen.

EDIT: I had a problem finding the black label DLC on the xbox live marketplace in america but I got it sorted after I foundthis link
http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox ... spx#896375
second problem, if you do not select storage device as hard drive you will not have access to the black label after you buy it. after you do that once, you can use any storage device. I almost thought I wasted my money till I figured that out.

Gah, after playing a good bit of 1.5, Black Label is so irking me.
I really notice the sudden start and stop of the slowdown in Black Label, it doesnt seem nearly this bad in 1.5
Givin me whiplash.

I never really notice any sort of jarring slowdown/speedup in Black Label, tbh.

So, I've been playing the original Mushihime (original, strong) through MAME and the it just feels like the bullets are moving really fast compared to Futari. Especially some of the baramaki patterns on the latter half of stage 3 feel absolutely brutal to me. Is this the way it's supposed to be, or did the PCB have more slowdown?

Hmm, maybe I need to re-install it? I don't know, stage 3 and 4 seem to have noticeable slowdown-speed up for me in Original. Maybe I am switching shots at inconvenient times?

When it came out, I heard people complaining that Black Label made their game stutter, particularly when they were online and their friends were popping up.
I never had a problem since I don't play online. The only stutter I get is a short one soon after the first powerup dragonfly comes onscreen. Probably the best place to get it, really. I barely even notice it.

Do you mean you don't play the game online with people (coop) or that your console isn't online when you play the game? Eitherway, the stuttering used to happen to me with the retail disc installed to the HDD, but I haven't noticed it once since downloading the GoD version.Special World wrote:I never had a problem since I don't play online.

Nah, I meant having the console connected to XBL during solo play. Was what they were saying, anyhow.
I have the game installed to my hard drive and it works great.

Re: Xbox 360: Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 (November 2009)
I've experienced quite a flew glitches on my copy, before buying BL. Random split-second hangs, and either corruption, or slashing red squares during boss fights being the two main ones.
Anyways, now I'm hitting the stage 3 boss regularly (after I'd say, 10 hours play, BL original), I thought I'd give it half an hour in training tonight. The weird thing is that once I survive the first form, I find the rest pretty easy, but those first few patterns make my brain hurt. Still, I'm clearing it maybe three out of every five attempts, so even a quick half hour has yielded a definite improvement. Made a fair way into stage four on one credit where I'd normally have quit after a stupid death on stage 2 boss, so I'm pretty pleased.

I just tried to play black label with no internet and I'm happy to say that it did work. I can't really say if there is any difference in game. very hard for me to tell there is a difference anyway.

YEEEEEESSSS!!
It just happened. I 1CC'ed Mushihime-sama Futari 1.5 Original with Reco. After watching sapz video by the end of january in which he cleared the hard 1.01 version i was really impressed and thought that maybe i could do a 1CC for 1.5. I started playing at the end of January on a regular basis learning everything from scratch for the game. After about two months of regular play i was able to 1CC it. What a journey it was. I'm so glad the hard work paid off. Weeeeee!

thank you!
i was wondering: how do you record replays for youtube? Since you have several good replays of Futari i conclude you are using a XBOX360. How do you get the replay from the XBOX on your PC ? Do you simply plug your XBOX onto your computer instead of the TV ? What capturing software is suited ? I have a very powerful server standing in my room and a replay coming from a noobie like me could perhaps help some newcomers regarding bomb distribution, killing things fast in lvl3/4 etc.

For console games you'll need a capture device attached to the tv, something like this:ancestral-knowledge wrote:i was wondering: how do you record replays for youtube?

I don't mean to shit on other people's accomplishments but man, these "I cleared 1.5 Orignal with a crap score" posts are really getting old. I wish more people would take the time actually get good at the game as opposed to just clearing on it's easiest difficulty and never touching it again. It really shouldn't take that long to get good if you just follow the advice put out by users like Icarus and Prometheus. I got my 417m score after only like a month of serious practice and I think Sapz got his 411m no-miss after only like 1 or 2 weeks.
