Back in January on the Nyu Media forums (the ones bringing eXceed to Steam), they stated Crimzon Clover was one of the titles they looked at but it was already with a different publisher. I can't say I expected something like this. No complaints though.

Holy shit! Well, so it could well be coming to Steam too? Who knows... I wonder if the guy will repack the game and offer this at a later time. I wouldn't mind paying again for this if it has all this new shit included.
SHOOTING GAME WILL NEVER DIE.

Or maybe not, it could be just that whoever is handling the Arcade version has full rights to it on every platform or non JPN territory, I hope this isnt the case
Edit perhaps someone who knows Japanese could find out if the ARC version is been handled by a 3rd party when more info comes available, or just plain ask Yotsubane if this is the case.

Hmm, people seem to be inserting wishful text between the lines here. When publisher A says they can't distribute something on Steam because it's with Publisher B, that doesn't mean Publisher B is doing anything either. I didn't intend to imply anything.

Nothing wrong with wishful thinking bud as long ppl arnt confusing something that has a slim chance of happening and a sure thing
I know, I know I say it every single, f*cking time. Cut me some slack. I promised myself to stop but, well... Wishful thinking is my speciality! Don't mind me, guys. Seriously.
One thing I was wondering, since exception seems to be coming to this service too (published by Success, right?), is how does this NESiCAxLIVE works. Any info on that?

Holy hell, this is great news! I really hope they add in different modes if possible but it might be a little far-fetched...
Oh, and another vote for Tate!

Nope, last I heard, they check for Asian IPs. It can't be a simple matter to set up an account, since the publishers get a cut of every credit spent...they must have to verify that you're a legit establishment.

Oh wow I knew it was network-based but I didn't realize it works like that. I was thinking maybe one could download a game to a unit, ship it overseas, and operate it without a net connection but I guess the system is more strict than that.
Props to Yotsubane. Crimzon Clover is a rad game and he deserves to make an equivalent amount of rad money. I await news on what differences the arcade version will contain.
Why is it called the Vic Viper/Warp Rattler? Because the Options trail behind it in a serpent-like fashion, and the iconic front fins are designed to invoke the image of a snake's fangs.
That's awesome news to hear that Crimson Clover is getting a proper arcade game release with the much desired Tate mode. Should be interesting to hear from our JPN based shmuppers of how it plays whenever the CC loke appears. Makes me wonder if it will retain the classic 8-way digital joystick & three button scheme of it's PC counterpart?
I had expressed interest that such an arcade game release of CC would be cool to see implemented in the main CC thread sometime back. Just wasn't sure if it was released as a dedicated PCB would be cost effective but see the reasoning to go with Taito NESiCAxLIVE platform for all digital distribution method indeed. Makes sense now.
To produce such a dedicated old-school PCB version of CC would be quite an expensive business endeavor if Yotsubane decided to pursue this particular route instead. It'd certainly be prized amongst the hard-core shmup PCB collectors/hobbyists though.
Just FYI the official site has been updated to indicate a release date of late July for this.
There will be a national Japanese ranking for the title (like other NESiCA titles), and the site says there will be balance adjustments for the arcade (probably harder) plus a new ship!
I also talked to an arcade operator today who said that this game would run on very rare "vert" NESiCA cabinets, currently used only for Raiden III/IV and Homura. Apparently there are only 5 or so country-wide, but hopefully we'll see a lot more!
Will be interesting to hear from our Japanese shmuppers how the gameplay/game mechanics of the NESiCAxLive version of Crimson Clover plays compared to it's PC doujin counterpart. Will a loke version of CC be appearing soon? And some HD vids of it in action certainly won't hurt.
