To the op
Why not just get a jatg 360. You will be able to play games from any region AND you can instal mame on it. Being able to play almost all of caves shmups on one console is great. And I agree with another poster, XBOX360 is the best gaming investment i have ever made. I havent been this hooked since my saturn.

JTAG > Xbox LIVE ban > you lose leaderboards, replays, patches, and the ability to get DLC: reasons for getting the J360 in the first place. Not an option.

Pretty sure you can find patches and DLC for download online and then transfer them to the JTAG 360. Leaderboards will be gone for sure though.

One of the reasons for getting a J360 is having leaderboards that don't suck so yeah

But you can play a few rounds of Uo Poko when DFK starts getting a bit much.

Make Futari + Black Label your next purchase. Best Cave games by a mile, imo.

Personally, I find DFK 1.5 to be absolutely annoying. It's the only Cave game that doesn't occasionally rotate itself in as one of my favorites. Arrange A is pretty good though.

Black Label is way more fun.

congratulations!

you have made an excellent choice although i would have bought the 250 GB version, so you can install all the games you own. you will not regret your investment.
Cagar wrote:Which DFK do people usually prefer, 1.5 or black label?
I think you should not compare these two games because despite the looks these games play very very differently. 1.5 is slightly more popular i think but that's all.

Hopefully you got some kind of voltage converter with it since you cant plug that straight in to the finnish wall socket. Something like this http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-er- ... -1pnk.html .
I bought mine from some finnish webshop but forgot which one..

Also +1 for getting Futari.

1.5 if the scoreboard thread is any indication.

You should buy that one regardless since it has BL as DLC.

Getting a European power brick works just as well. I got mine from eBay.de for my j360 and it works great. Just to be sure to get one that'll work with your system, the power bricks are forwards compatible - that is to say, first-model power bricks will work with all Xbox 360's, but newer power bricks will not work with earlier systems. At least that's how it was with the non-slim models.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

You couldn't wait 3~4 more months? If not, then you should have at least gotten an Asian 360 instead of a Japanese one. The Asian ones come with a 220v PSU, so it would have saved you some trouble.

Ah, yes, that too. Definitely easier way to handle the situation.
The old 360 power brick plug-in to the console is different shape to what the slim model has, so you need to make sure which model to buy.
Forgot the whole power brick thing since when I bought the j360 nobody was selling the slim model bricks separately yet.

I can confirm that the power brick that comes with the Asia model of slim works with normal Finnish socket electricity. Only extra thing you need to buy is a normal computer power cable to use with the brick.

For $50 USD more, you could have bought one that's 250GB, includes two games, a headset, and a 220v power supply.

i'm not sure why you'd bother with japanese products on a chinese website, all of their non-asian branded goods are hilariously overpriced

Kind of pissed to hear NOW that an asian 360 exists, and with a compatible power.
I still think you should have waited ~3 more months, but that bundle is a decent deal though.

That's one beefy step-down (step-up?) convertor.

Now I'm tempted to case-mod my 360 to look like that. Dials and knobs everywhere ftw!

Cagar: enjoy your purchase :D

I've had a lot of mileage out of 2 J-360s and plan to get much more - they've been worth every penny.

I picked up the first one (an original Xenon) for £100 and it lasted a couple of years (with the help of an X-Clap and a reflow after it RRoDed after 12 months). It was enough for me to know picking up a slim was well worth it - which I did as soon as it RRoDed a second time.

That RRoDed Xenon sat under the bed for months until I sold it a couple of weeks ago for spares on ebay - the guy picked it up for £28 and had it working in an afternoon

I'm not sure how long it will last but good luck to him

Is there such a thing as "Vacuum-tube Punk"? If not, we may be on the verge of a new pop culture phenomena.

It's a step-down convertor so he can use a Japanese 360 (and Japanese PSU) in the EU. Looks like quite an expensive one too. An EU 360 PSU would definitely be cheaper.
