INH has posted more details about the Ketsui capture DVD:

http://www.inhgroup.com/item/ketsui/

Included in this set are two replays: one for Type-A played by 太菱 and one for Type-B played by SYO. (I guess both replays go into the special second round.) Both replays end up with scores that are the best in Arcadia as of the September 2005 issue.

I'll leave it to you guys to figure out the rest of the page. :)

INSANITY DVD THE APOCALYPSE KETSUI KIZUNAJIGOKUTACHI

That's just a speculative title, by the way ^_^

The release date according to the page is the end of October, so hopefully Cocoebiz or whatever should have a preorder available sometime soon ^_^

That's quite a... disturbing image... you've just painted there O_O;;;;;;

It appears there will be seperate package releases, one for Ketsui and another for Mushihime. Smart thinking...keep it pure.

Hm, the packages are listed as containing "DVD x1" and "CD x1," so I guess a soundtrack for each looks like a pretty good possibility...it also lists another "x1" item for each, but it's in Japanese lettering so I can't tell what it is.

I was kinda hoping they were be in the same package so I would have an excuse to get the Ketsui DVD (never played the game), but oh well.

I can't be sure since the image is rather small, but doesn't it look like Reko is participating in a wet t-shirt -contest?

Babelfish says it's a "A-4 book of paintings". :D

No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Yeah both are listed with soundtracks. The one for Ketsui is labelled Ketsui kizuna jigokutachi Perfect Soundtrack and includes all tracks from the arcade version, the mobile phone version and arranged tracks. Mushi only lists "remix tracks" as preliminary info. The thrid x1 is a booklet in both cases (listed as A4 size for Mushi and A5, 70 pages for Ketsui). Contents listed for the Ketsui one are promotional artwork, "secret" unused material from the dev's treasure chest and commentary on the superplays and related game system specifics. The Ketsui DVD specs also mention a running subtitle track that can be turned on or off.

Cave have a habit of featuring special track remixes on their OST albums (I guess you've never purchased one of their CDs). These tracks do not correspond with remixes that are done on homeports for Arrange and other special modes (the Arrange ESPGaluda/DDP:DOJ OST CD being an exception), they are simply something that the musicians behind the game OSTs decide to include.

I can't justify the high prices of OSTs (or Posters for that matter), so no I was not aware of this. :D Now superplay DVD's are something I will definately invest in, and arrange soundtracks and artwork is just icing on the cake!

Don't think this as been posted.

Mushihime and Ketsui DVD preview video:
http://zetubou.mine.nu/itoshiki/nozomu/zetubou0801.mpg
from the AM show.

Don’t let the song you can hear in the background drive you insane.

I think it says something like these are sample movies, and that they do not represent the final product.

Now, on my two cents... since these are interlaced, I finally get to see what this looks like at 60 fps. *dies*

Wow

Ketsui definitely looks like my kind of game. (First time i've actually seen it in motion). That helicopter intro was so neat. I demand a home port now.

Wow, I saw the Ketsui vids on the site (thanks for the link lmn4096), that's the first time I've seen the game in motion too. I need it now :D
It looks beautiful, if only I could afford the PCB right now

Sorry to go off topic, but with it being a 2002 game, it'll probably be emulated soon, do you think this will have an effect on the PCB price? I for one hope so ^_^

It will be years before it is emulated. You would think it would go down, but sometimes people get to play the game and then everyone wants it...

Someone said they were just sample videos, but who knows (it's stage 3 by the way). Also, there are no boxes because it is the 2nd loop, and I don't know why there are no boxes in the loop, I just know that there aren't any (or you can't see them at least).

452 million points with 4 lives left at DOOM?? So it appears in that one picture on the official site.

The only boss you can milk is the 1st boss. FIRST LOOP ONLY.

In either loops you only have 1 chips (boxes) and x1 multiplyer . I belive this is how the game actually played originally in the location tests.

Instead of dropping chips the enemies unleash suicide bullets (PINK in the NORMAL, and BLUE in the Special Round). A greater number and faster in the Special Round. MMM is right though, you can't see the chips since they are suicide bullets, but you still get them (they are only 1 though). Since using Lock-Shot drops more chips, you unleash more suicide bullets too.

You can "seal" suicide bullets by being within a certain radius of enemies. However, doing this results in 0 chips for the normal loop, and just a base number for the Special Loop (one reason you get more points in Special Loop).

Because of the suicide bullets randomness (and you need to release them for more points) it is hard to make an exact route. I am sure the URA Loop is the hardest thing CAVE has done (well there is that ULTRA True Last Boss). At times you will get to a corner and the only way out is to bomb, fly through a hail of suicide bullets, or poop yourself solid.

It isn't so bad to use bombs because they arn't worth very many points. Of course to get to the SPECIAL ROUND you musn't use BOMBS. In that sample both players have not died yet.

Have you managed to make it to the Special Loop, Valgar? I've seen your current score, very impressive.

I had the chance to play it in Kyoto last year, and after about 15 credits spaced over three days, I could only manage a paltry 34mil at the third stage midboss (the destroyer with the 1UP). A very difficult game indeed.

I havn't gotten there yet, the closest I was two lives away. I can consistantly get through Stages 1-4 with NO MISS/NO BOMB. I have been through every section of Stage 5 with NO MISS/NO BOMB but it just hasn't come through yet...

BTW, I just noticed this earlier, but the promo video for Mushi (despite showing only Ultra) does state that it features replays of all 3 game modes.

Try getting past stage 2-3 of donpachi no miss while using 2 bombs or less. Stage 2-4 (under those conditions) is the hardest thing cave has ever done period because of the ridiculous rank. No one (not Laos, not NAI, not even Ex_mosquito) has cleared 2-4 without dying because of the insane rank and the way the suicide bullets act. Once you die, things go back to being really hard instead of insanely impossible.

How many points do you get for lives in DP? Also why only 2 bombs?
