Karnov!

Post by JBC »

Anyone else remember this game? I used to play this all the time. I remember i'd always die on like, the second stage. I'd get to a part where my fat guy is flying and i'd have to keep killing these pterodactyls and collecting an angel wing power up to stay in flight. This crap was almost as hard as Legendary Wings.

Anyway - i think once in the NES version i made it past that part and all the way to a Tyranosaur that stomped my fat ass into the ground.

Dude -- I beat the arcade version back in the day. That last boss sucks DICK! I played that game for like 8 hours straight one day (I had a bunch of left over tokens from an arcade) and STILL didnt' beat him. Went to a water park, and did it in about an hour a week later. A tough cookie indeed.

Great, I only ever play the spectrum version though.

I also like Karnov's revenge, the NEO-GEO fighting game. Also released for Saturn 1MB required and there ia a special insanity DVD out, but the shipping charges are ridiculous.

There's also a cameo of Karnov in Bad Dudes/Dragon Ninja. Karnov sounds like one hard game. Actually, I did play the arcade version a couple of times, but I haven't gotten very far.

Wasn't "Karnov" the name of the boss in the Fighter's History games? Were they made by the same company? The characters look kind of alike...

Yes, Data East.Karnov also appears in Robocop and Sly Spy, also by Data East. In the russian stage of Tumblepop (Data East again), one enemy is more or less like Karnov. Data East was one of those companies that liked to make internal quotes a lot, so to speak.

Which is why Chelnov appeared as the boss in the 3rd Fighters' History for the SFC. Sorta lame if you ask me...

I used to have a PC CD-ROM version of this game. The screenshots on the back of the case were from a different version (presumably the arcade version) but in-game the graphics had about 7 colors and really primitive, ugly sprites.

Heh, like Karnov on the box cover? Or karnov in the game? Because if it's Karnov on the box cover I definitey wouldn't want to piss him off.

Mostly like Karnov in the game - don't worry, though. My wife is much hotter than her dad lol!

I love how in Bad Dudes you fight Karnov, the boss of the first stage, and then on the train stage (which was after the graveyard stage where you fight a big ole Gene Simmons in his KISS outfit....serious) you fight the Ghost of Karnov! Ooooooh! Even in death, Karnov hungers for your fiery corpse, oooooooh!

Man, I love this game. I just wish it was a little less difficult. I usually don't even make it out of level 3 (arcade).
