Mine shipped from Play Asia. I decided on the Limited in the end, on account of the fact I just don't have many to show for, only DSIIX and Mushi PS2.

Looking forward to checking this out on a tated CRT, I've always wanted to try BD and UD but melted my Dreamcast years ago and never did put up the cash to replace it.

Hope it sells well.

My AmiAmi payment request came in as well, so I paid it and it should ship soon. For now I will monitor this thread. It will hopefully not take long to get here.

Edit: Someone is selling the PS3 LE on eBay for about $100 shipped from Japan. That's about eight dollars cheaper than AmiAmi charged me. Figured I'd throw that out htere for anyone that's still unsure about where to purchase it.
Why is it called the Vic Viper/Warp Rattler? Because the Options trail behind it in a serpent-like fashion, and the iconic front fins are designed to invoke the image of a snake's fangs.

Got my Ps3 reg edition this morning. Game looks gorgeous. The New Order widescreen mode looks very nice. I tried the dual stick controls and i am not sure if i like them yet. What i do like like is you can adjust the controller response time and it works well with the analog stick even though the control is digital (no analog control btw) The new order soundtrack is a bit to mellow so i switched back to arcade. I also notice a lot of slowdown, i assume its intentional to match the arcades timing though i cant confirm as i don't own a DC anymore. I love it none the less :D

Also i cant read Japanese but does anyone know if this games supports 1080p? the back of the case only shows 480p and 720p no mention of 1080p.

Where did you buy it from who were willing to ship it so early?

I doubt it supports 1080p. You can pretty much count on one had all the games that do this generation. Even with a game like this which probably isn't pushing the hardware too much it's just easier to code it for 720p and avoid potential performance issues.

I received my copy of the LE today. Here are some observations:

-The packaging is nice. The LE is a slip-case design with the RE artwork on the actual game case inside the slip-case. The spine of the OST and the DVD says "Dreamcast" on it for some reason.

-There's a "Now Loading" screen after each stage in both New Order Mode and Arcade Mode. Dreamcast owners can rest assured that have a point in the port category. Because I've never played the Dreamcast or the arcade version before, I can't comment on accuracy of the port. Everything seems good so far, though.

-New Order Mode doesn't appear to have boss music. As Elixir noted earlier in this thread, you get a warning noise that the boss is approaching and the stage music fades back in. It's pretty disappointing.

-That said, the New Order soundtrack is pretty good. It's definitely worth noting that it's a paltry six tracks. I suck at the game so far, so I haven't gotten to that fucking awesome moment in 1-5 and 2-5 when you begin the stage and the soundtrack is all lush and gorgeous, later fading in the music with the sound of your guns blazing. I'm not sure how they pull off that moment in New Order, but it better be damn good.

-There's one setting to rotate the menus/screen and it displays Arcade in TATE (I play on a rotated LCD).

-There are only, I think, 6 backgrounds to choose from. I haven't unlocked the gallery stuff yet.

Yeah, what exactly is the go in general with the HD modes on 360? Every 360 game I have my TV says is displaying in 1080p, where as PS3 games display in 720p for the most part, with only some games (KOF XIII for example) showing 1080p. Some sort of upscaling malarkey? If so how do you tell if software is running in true HD or not?

Soul Calibur V PS3 says on the back of the box it can display 1080p yet on my set, which we have already established can display true HD if it wants to, runs in 720p, with no apparent option to change it.

OT: I wouldn't mind knowing how people get their copies so early either :?

@DrTrouserPlank I got mine from Play Asia. I live in NY and NCSX is expensive. I got it quicker and cheaper even with FedEx and no state tax.

My Panasonic G10 plasma says the game is displaying at 1080p but i wonder if my Ps3 is upscaling the game. Fudoh, can you confirm?

If your TV says 1080p while running UD on the PS3 it only means that the game ALLOWS the PS3 to upscale it to 1080p. Doesn't say anything about the native internal resolution the game is running at.

Thanks for clearing that up Fudoh. I thought that it was strange there was no mention of 1080p on the box. Anway it still looks gorgeous, and the controls are nice and crisp with good response. I'm really surprised they did not include analog control, that would have been the icing on the cake. Even the fire and rotation control using the right analog stick is digital, go figure.

Even if it said 1080p on the box, I almost assure you it isnt running that natively. Their is only a handful of games accross both consoles that do (wipeout HD comes to mind).

Anyone else playing this on a 4:3 TV? The whole game displays as 16:9 on mine, which is fine for New Order but not arcade mode... I'm given the option of 4:3 or 5:4 for Arcade, but the widescreen borders remain. It's unplayable for me as it stands. Not happy with this at all.

360. After Guwange and Strania, I thought we were past this... but both of those got patches so I guess this will too.

Slowly warming to this, New Order seems much more fun than Arcade anyway. Vertizontal suits the game nicely.

I'm watching the New Order video and man, G.rev did an amazing job in translating it in 16:9. But if I understand correctly, in that mode, you're forced to use dual analog right? That's too bad though, would love to use my Hori sticks.

You can choose between the new or old soundtrack for both arcade and new order. The old soundtrack has the boss music obviously.

You aren't forced to use dual sticks. Also you can use the d-pad in twin stick mode instead of the left stick.

So I could totally use an arcade stick in new order and play it classic style?

ah shit. Are you saying that in tate it's Guwange style with borders? I already ordered mine, but I will be dissappointed if that's the case.

After spending some time with this release i can honestly say that twin stick mode is awesome. I am starting to think how did i play this game without it. You can keep your shot focused on enemies at all times without having to stop firing. Also you can map your bomb to R3 (or whatever you like) and never have your fingers leave the sticks. The new control scheme adds a new dimension and a much more aggressive approach which i think you need as new order is harder than arcade original (more enemies)

Is New Order basically the same arrangement, or did they mix up the enemy placement or something to make it different?

I had a feeling this was going to happen when I only saw 720p on the box on the play-asia photos.
